Fps_Ben Posted February 9, 2011 Share Posted February 9, 2011 Hey guys, Bought a 360 to fix up for me. 20$ cant beat it. Has the e74 error and yeah I already ripped it open. Just waiting to get the x clamp fix. My one question has anyone done this before and can anyone give me any important advice? I see some people Re ball the bridge bettween the ana/ hana chip and gpu with a heat gun and others just overheat it with the heatsink on, Is this needed? Also I've never had a 360. So if this works I'll be getting live. So any advice? P.S. already took x clamps and heatsinks off. The gpu heat sink has the copper heatpipe that comes out and sits infront of the cpu cooler. Basically you add holes to the steel 360 case and add the clamp onto either or both of the CPU(just to be safe) and GPU. Then add a bit of thermal compound and bam. DIAMELO Posted February 9, 2011 Share Posted February 9, 2011 Yup I used the same llama guide to fix my Xbox 360 and one thing that I would recommend is to get some replacement fans that move more air than the ones the Xbox comes with. Darkwing Duck Posted February 10, 2011 Share Posted February 10, 2011 The solder around the gpu should be fine. I wouldn't risk spreading the solder too thin and or over other connection lines. Also you should replace those thermal band-aids with an alternative, such as pennies, or if you can get commercial thermal pads use those.
