If so there is a problem with one of the electrical components on the board, I acquired a HP monitor from a friend of mine a long time ago with the same issue, and went about trying to fix it. In order to fix it you have to desolder a key component on the monitor's circuit board and resolder a new one. I am quite good a soldering and I was not successful in this endeavor. It is probably much trickier in a laptop considering the circuitry is integrated into the mother board. As a quick fix you can try the following: Buy a monitor and simply hook it up to the monitor whenever you want to use it, or you can try the aforementioned, but I warn you it will not be an easy task. You need the board schematics, you need to be able to read the schematics and you have to find the defunct inverter. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
