Tommo
A server can be hosted from an android phone/tablet. I dont know about playing the actual game.
Ice Tea
Notch said himself he would make an iPhone version, I do not remember him saying anything about an Android one. And if a app for playing Minecraft is released by a publisher other than Mojang, Mojang can take them down. Has happened before.
laos
Java is not strong enough to handle minecraft on mobile processors - even the iPad is not capable of doing Indev (Current Minecraft) and can only do classic
Ice Tea
Update: Other cool news is that work has started on the mobile version of Minecraft http://notch.tumblr.com/post/4159257708/full-steam-ahead-captain

DR.OBVIOUS
ya I know that app...I don't have it but I know that all it does is import maps from your accept of computer r w/e. Its not made by notch so it wouldn't probably have all the updates and all that good stuff asap so I think ill just wait till notch makes his own app... Solveitwithguns
Yes I've heard of this it sucks hardcore camal dick to be honest. It literally made someone not want to buy the real version (then again he dug down to bedrock asked if that was it and then quit :/), honestly no matter how much we all wish it minecraft will never be good for a touch phone . r3dm0nd
All I've heard on this topic was that there is an android version in the works and the first phone to support it will be the Sone Ericson Experia Play.
