ScubaSteve
Thought i would make a thread to help keep the community safe from tf2 scammers. The point of the thread is so people who like trading and are a huge part of the TF2 Trading Economy, can keep informed about scammers and impostors. I have found a small tool that helps people get information into a certain person, whether they be a scammer or a trusted middleman. http://www.liveweb.it/steam.php it can search for: steamID64 (ex: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197992640087) steamID64 PARTIAL (ex: 76561197992640087) customURL (ex: http://steamcommunity.com/id/frankpalafox) customURL PARTIAL (ex: frankpalafox) steam (ex: STEAM_0:1:16187179) after searching it will check the steamID64 in a scammer/trusted database, and will show the results. I did not make this tool and no credit goes to me for this helpful tool Here is the link where i found it, and the person who created it. [http://www.sourceop.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=30097] Much like our Ban / Unban / Abuse / T-list threads, i would like to keep the template traditional. ______________________________________________________________________ 1. Name: 2. Steam Id: 3. Server: 4. Reason: <Reason in this case means, how is he a scammer? Ex: Scammed, impostor, spycrab scammed, reversed paypal, etc> 5. Proof: <either a demo or SS is required depending on the problem> 6. Comments:___________________________________________________________________ Please do not post without some kind of proof. Side notes: 1. This thread is not here to ruin someone forever, just to be inform the community that this person is unsafe for trading. 2. Do not report people for scamming if they low-balled you on your item. Scamming and low-balling are 2 different things. 3. I'm not sure if buying admin gives us admin to the trading server, but if you can i believe that shouldn't be allowed cause admins are trusted and if a scammer wanted to purchase admin for our trade server lots of people will trust him and most likely be scammed. I think only those of us who are very trusted can be admin for the trading server. 4. I'm not sure how council and staff will take this thread, so if the thread stays up and stickied, i will post this list of scammers on this thread myself. Example of what these should look like. 1. Name:sOP ' RAGEQUIT? xCPL 2. Steam Id: http://steamcommunity.com/id/kcrmyz92/ 3. Server: UHT server 4. Reason: Scammer 5. Proof: http://img440.imageshack.us/gal.php?g=scammed1.png 6. Comments: Ran off with gifted game, never relieved my part of the deal.
