Snacks
Hey guys. I'm a protoss player with a solid PvP and TvP (but then I barely ladder so I base that off of practice matches with friends) but my ZvP is shady because of one unit: Mutalisks I can handle pushes quite well but when the zerg starts making mutaliks (especially in the late game) I have no idea how I can handle the harass while managing my macro. Any tips? MUTAS ARE SO MOBILE!
LazaHorse
Stalkers at the ready. Keep a group of 4 or so in three important locations: (1) your main nexus (2) your natural expo mineral line (3) the backdoor to your main wherever it may be. Also scouting with Observers is KEY to winning the field battle in ZvP
Snacks
I would leave stalkers around my expansions but there would be times where I will need to pull the stalkers to join my main army. Would phoenix be a good reaction to mutas? they're good for scouting too
Libb
if phoenixes are easy to get then definately
BigJ
phoenixes are the counter to them
envisioN .
phoenix counter the mutas but they aren't always easy to get or useful in the late game if the zerg decides to stop making mutas. another option is to scout his base with an observer and watch for when the spire goes down. When you see this, immediately get a forge and place 2-3 cannons at each mineral line of your base. This will deter any muta harass until there are somewhere around 15+ Mutas. Also upgrading Blink for your stalkers to make it easier for them to react to the mutas is a big help. And for the late game, try getting some High Templars with Psy Storm. The storm eats mutas for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Jack
gotta scout the spire early to get a early head start with quick phoenixs, before the muta count gets to high.
Dr.jiggles
Some photon cannons for constant protection, stalkers and later in the game blink stalkers, hight templars are effective but shouldnt be used as direct counters but are very effective if you have them lying around. The best unit would be phoenixes but make sure just to get enough to kill the mutas since they cant destroy building, also if you micro them well you can evade most damage. Deln
well its depend, if you have an expansion at that moment then you should have a forge up, make 1-2 cannons next to the mineral line and they cant do anything to you. its not that hard to block, if they go for mutas/lings/banelings then get 2-3 cannons, and a lot of sentry(6-7 of them). if you have templars then use storm when they are grouped together.
