Cookie
Well I got a new graphics card the other day, a geforce 8500. Now when I go to put it in my computer (i know how to put it in correctly) my screen turns off and only when I take the graphics card out it turns back on. The graphics card has an area for the monitor but it also does not want to let me see my screen. Any ideas on how to get it to work? inb4 its my bus, it's the same size
rL10
Try turning off your PC before putting it in.

beast702
Have you installed it with the cd before you put it in the motherboard?
Plaayer
It might be that your BIOS is set to only take video from the integrated card. Boot the PC with your regular video card into the BIOS, and find the setting which allows you to change where the PC gets video from. AnonyHorse
When you start up your pc press one of these at the windows boot screen F1 F2 DEL ESC F10 a message similar to the below example as the computer is booting. Some older computers may also display a flashing block to indicate when to press the F1 or F2 keys. Press <F2> to enter BIOS setup
