DaAmazinChicken
Im making a new build this summer (first one!) and I wanted to know if anyone has used this board before: ASUS P8P67 LE (REV 3.0) LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131706 and what your thoughts are on it and on ASUS boards in general. RetiredTacos
Don't have it myself but ASUS boards are pretty good as with most manufactures these days in the mid-high end.
Cal45
I will second Terry in saying that ASUS makes some quality products. Come to think of it, I don't think I've built a computer yet that didn't have one of their mobo's in it. Never had a problem.
Cefdinir
It's a pretty basic board and ASUS is top shelf so you shouldn't be disappointed. Other Thoughts: -only one PCIe x16 slot for graphics (the other only runs at x4 so no CF/SLI support). -only a 4 phase VRM for the CPU (I wouldn't recommend overclocking on this). If you save/allocate some more $$ I would recommend the P8P67 PRO Rev. 3 which will give you expandable headroom (CF/SLI) and more power for overclocking (if you plan on it in the future). In addition, the P8P67 PRO Rev. 3 is a popular board with a large number of reviews. Otherwise, if you don't plan on using the mentioned features then the one you have in OP should suite you just fine. What CPU did you plan on getting for it? Darkwing Duck
Asus is a great brand, cant really go wrong with them. My personal favorite is eVGA though. Their boards are ridiculous ;D
JaimeSwitch
For $20 more here's something you may want to look into, the ASRock P67 EXTREME4 (B3) LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157229&cm_re=P67_extreme4-_-13-157-229-_-Product Not a wiz but I was looking at this myself for when I build my first rig, hopefully soon. You'll be able to get 2 GPUs for SLI/Crossfire and apparently OCing on this is a breeze. Edited June 30, 2011 by JaimeSwitch

I plan on getting the i5 2500k which is a good CPU for a good price I think. I am not looking to OC cause Im not willing to sink money into a better heat sink. I was also thinking of a GIGABYTE board (GIGABYTE GA-H67M-D2-B3 LGA 1155 Intel H67 SATA 6Gb/s Micro ATX Intel Motherboard) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128473 The P8P67 PRO Rev. 3 looks like a very nice board though it is a bit on the high end for price for me. Also. Im looking at two video cards: EVGA 01G-P3-1560-KR GeForce GTX 560 Ti (Fermi)-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130634 MSI N550GTX-Ti Cyclone OC GeForce GTX 550 Ti (Fermi)-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127573 The EVGA card does run cooler and quieter then the MSI card, though the MSI card does provide greater power and is cheaper (also means that I could spend more on the MB). Mind giving me your guys opinions on these as well?

The only significant gain from getting the k version is the unlocked multiplier. possibly swat too Get the i5-2500! You save 10$ (newegg.com) . xD
RetiredTacos
If I was going to spend 100ish $ on a motherboard, I'd get this - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138321 For 15$ more AR i'd get this - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138298 On the video card, I'd go EVGA over MSI 11/10 times. Plus you're looking at a 550, here's a good review. http://www.guru3d.com/article/geforce-gtx-550-ti-review-msi-cyclone-ii-oc/10 On the CPU is you're NOT going to overclock and you're 100% positive get the NON-k version

Both GIGABYTE and ASUS are top notch with Biostar not far behind, can't go wrong with either.
Darkwing Duck
Terry I've never heard of Biostar before, are they good/reliable?
Jake
I've had an biostar board in my old AM2 pc and that thing is a ROCK. Been going for years pretty much on 24/7 untill a year ago when I built a new PC. While Biostar isn't my first choice for a MB, they're still good. RetiredTacos
Terry I've never heard of Biostar before, are they good/reliable? I've built a couple sandybridge systems with biostar as well as my file server at home, haven't ran into any issues. I wouldn't hesitate to buy them.
