Zoom_Zoom
L4d2 was working perfectly the first 3 days I bought it. Then for some reason yesterday the game just keeps freezing when something happens (like a boomer blowing up, me picking up a gun, etc). This can happen every 2 to 3 minutes to every 10 seconds and sometimes every 3 seconds. I literally happens EVERY time I press E to pick something up or just pressing E. I have tried many things including turning multi core rendering off, making the sound quality low, and among others. Does anyone know a solution to this problem? EDIT: Just verified the cache files, it tells me that one file failed. Now it just won't install. It is error (55) but whenever I do the windows>run>C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\bin\Steamservice.exe /Install my computer tells me it can't find "C:\Program" .... jesus why is this so hard? Zoom_Zoom
I already tried searching google. Not to be rude, but don't you think I found some of the fixes I listed from google? Anyways I'm just going to reinstall it and wait for 10+ hours for it to reinstall
Isaac
nope, but anyways try reading this ---> https://hellsgamers.com/threads/38696-Before-making-a-thread-here Defragment Cache Files & Verify Integrity of game cache may help.
Zoom_Zoom
Thanks for the replies. I have already tried both. It says I verified the cache files in my edited post. Your link isn't working for me. After I verified the cache files it did say something about 1 file, can't remember the exact words, but it said it wasn't installed and that it was going to try to retrieve it. Now I get an error when trying to reinstall and I'm doing what it is telling me in the website but it isn't working. I will try a steam repair. Zoom_Zoom
Can someone else help me with this? I've already tried reinstalling the game, same thing pops up and it isn't my antivirus.
enigma#
I'm presuming you've tried these fixes: http://www.gamingnewslink.com/2009/11/18/fixing-left-4-dead-2-crashes-freezes-and-steaminstall-errors/ Next thing to do is try doing a system restore... this sounds symptomatic of a system being modified in a manner which could cause these types of crashes.
