Phate
So, I notice alot of us play tf2, and we all use different weapons. After talking to Gjam(gratz on Member) I found that the Yer with dead ringer and diamondback works much better than my previous setup. So I will start this thread off with a soldier post: I find that the most useful secondary is the shotty, solely because if and when you run out of rockets, or are in Close quarters with a spy, to avoid the self damage, the shotty can deal the damage to them and keep yourself alive. Cypher'
I dunno i kinda like the gunboats.. in the same close quarters situation you can rocket jump and kill everyone..even ones u can't see.
Scott
I dunno i kinda like the gunboats.. in the same close quarters situation you can rocket jump and kill everyone..even ones u can't see. ive never used gunboats lol. but my best class is soldier. i use buff banner and black box. yes you are screwed if you have low hp in close quarters, but being a good soldier, they wouldnt be alive too long when they are close. i dont like using shotgun as soldier because there are different things that can help u out more than just avoiding damaging urself in close quarters
Phate
I for one, am also in favor of the gunboats, because of the wider use of the RL. An overlooked item, the reserve shooter, both decreases time to switch weapons and aids in combat against airborne players. I find that the hardest class for me to play as a soldier is the scout, mainly due to the closeness and the randomness of the scout. Since they often jump when they shoot, switching to the RS can make a very quick "shotgun surprise" which can help, but unfortunately works poorly with less "jumpy" classes. Also, Scott, maybe would you elaborate on the more important things than close quarters combat?
laos
black box and shotgun - you won't need gunboats and will thank yourself for all the extra kills
the pyrotek
as soldier ive found the shotty works best, just switch to it when you need to reload but dont have enough time or if you just need to shoot a spy or something.
