I like the concept of LoL, but I have never played a game like it. Got any protips? I'm level 5, I die a lot, and I rarely get kills.

I needs teh strategies.

Also- Good Tanking class? (Lots of health) or good tank/ranged class?

I use master yi a bit but I can't find a good combo of items for him.

Or any good starter/beginner classes?

Get a group of friends AROUND THE SAME LEVEL AS YOU and play together. As a beginner never play with people who are level 30 because win or lose you'll level up and find yourself at level 30 with absolutely no skill.

Man speaks from experience. <3

If you want a relatively easy/brainless tank... go Malphite. You literally jump in the middle of them with your ult... then walk around punching people while they try to kill you. Fun stuff.

Is mordekeiser a good character?

Yeah, all of the characters are "good" in their own sense of the word.

Until at least level 20 I don't think you should play any champions except for free ones. I made the mistake of getting tons of them(using real money on some) and now I never ever play them.

1. Don't over-extend (esp. early game)

Imagine the two towers (yours and theirs), if you're constantly crossing the middle point between them in early game. It is not ALWAYS a good thing. Try to stay behind the mid line unless you're certain you can kill them. This holds especially true if they have a jungler

2. Try not to have two of the same kind as often.

In my experience, having two melees or two ranged aren't as effective as having two different types of characters.

Ranged + support

Ranged + melee

Tank + carry (ranged or melee)

etc...

I don't know I've always found laning with someone who has good CC or healing capabilities beneficial.

CC is crowd control, the ability to keep mobs or champions off you.

3. If you're playing a carry (someone who starts really weak but ends up very powerful), try to last hit as much as possible.

Last hitting is when you wait for a minion to go low health and you kill it. (You get the gold plus xp)

In League, you cannot deny creeps so farming effectively is important.

4. If you're not sure what to build, follow the recommended item list or ask someone who knows how to build the character.

5. If you're noticing you're dying alot, play more passively. E.g. last hit only, stay by the tower.

6. This game takes time and with more games you play, the better you'll become.

7. Having a good team comp is important. e.g. having all carries on one team is a BAD idea (although I've seen games where we've won with all carries)

8. Ward and WARDALOT! it keeps the map awareness up and prevents you from being ganked as easily
