so, I know Wolfman is also building one but I want a cheap (around $1,000 please...) Gaming computer, the Hard Drive I'm hoping for AT LEAST 500GB if not 1TB (sounds good yah :P) 4.00 GB RAM at least. Heres my prob...I HAVE NO CLUE ON VIDEO CARDS, as in...what should I get? OS ideas (I am going with Windows 7 atm)? Processor....no idea....need ideas and like I said I really do not want to go above $1,000.

Thanks for any help!

I assume you are building this yourself? If so, you shouldn't have too much of a problem staying under $1000 with these suggestions.

Suggestions:

Go for 1TB HDD

I would do 6GB+ of RAM

Go i7 on the processor, quad core 3.0+ GHZ

Try for a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 540 or 550

Seems like NVIDIA is the way to go, I guess I can try for 6GM on RAM, For sure the 1TB, where should I get? local store, amazon or something?

If you're going with an Intel platform, you would want at least a 6 gig kit to achieve triple channel. For video i would rather go with a 560 Ti, or a 570 (I prefer EVGA myself) depending on what type of performance you are trying to achieve. You're going to need a 64 bit OS which in this case would be W7. A couple things i'm going to ask is: Do you plan on overclocking? Are there any plans on going SLi in the future? and are there any features that are a must-have on the motherboard?
