Tommo
Hello guys, my brother and i have decided to start up a project. We're going to make a mobile sound system. To keep it cheap we have set eyes on a 2-channel amplifier. On a 2-channel amp you're only supposed to add a L- and a R-speaker. But since we also want to add a sub, we need to bridge the connection. I have read on the internet that i might work, but there is also a risk that the amp might burn out. Has anyone got any experience within this field? - Tommo. Jake
To bridge you take the negative from 1 channel and the positive from the other channel. You risk burning up your amp if your subs are not wired to the correct ohm that the amp can handle. You would need to find out what ohm your amp is stable at in a bridged configuration. Jake
it should say on the amp somewhere, or you should be able to look up the model info online. It will say something 1x1000w max @ 4 OHMS
