Really you have to do that for one speeding ticket? Did you like spit in the cops face when he pulled you over or something?

It's always good to take a DD class after a ticket. You get no points on your license and your insurance premium won't go up (in most cases).

86 in a 65. Anything in excess of 80 mph or 15 mph over the posted speed limit is a revocation of your license. In my case, for 30-60 days and then pay a fee to have it reinstated + court costs + attorneys fees + more

Your insurance will have no clue that you had a ticket.

You do need to let your insurance know you did a defensive driving class.

You will actually get a discount!

I have gotten 2 tickets a year for the last 2 years, all of them speeding.

My insurance has no clue, and they actually made a comment about how good my record looks. lol

Update: Last night I got my DD cert. Well they screwed up. They let me sign a paper where I plead guilty to Improper Equipment. Stapled to that sheet is a waiver saying in big capital letters DO NOT REDUCE TO IMPROPER EQUIPMENT. I needed the waiver to take the class since my speeding was so "excessive." So I went to the Clerk of Superior Court today and chatted. She took that paper somewhere and they chatted. She came back and said that its their fault for allowing me to sign that. That she was TERRIBLY sorry. Then I got to pay my court costs and go :) Spent a totatl of $50 on the DD class and $171 on court costs. Now I'm a free man. Hurray :P

Nice, yeah that sounds about what I had to pay just 3 months ago. I did deferred.

You are lucky the speed limit wasn't 60, or all of this would have possibly been different.

I believe 25 over takes you into a new bracket of speeding. I think its a charge of wreckless driving as well.
