Thoughts about MW3 (Modern Warfare 3)

Now I'm not sure how many of you are hardcore 360 users, but I myself am. Also as a fellow soon to to be graduated Game Designer I thought why not see what other peoples opinions are about the game.

Now my opinion is altered because of the fact I am doing this as a living, but my opinion as a fellow critic is... that this game could have and should have been so much better than it turned out. With in the first two missions i was highly disappointed. We all know for a fact the graphics are better than previous but could have still been much better. I saw meshes throughout the game that weren't even completed, like how is that something you don't notice? That made me very upset, all of the objects you run into during parts where u have very little control over whats happening, like in the second mission when you take down the sub, there were multiple objects with no collision on that they could have done amazing things with. Well the main point is i am looking for other peoples p.o.v. people who don't have any experience testing game or anything to do with game design and get their input.

Well i hope tomorrow when i play some multi-player that i am well pleased.

I would like to participate in this thread in more detail, but, my PS3 blu-ray laser is dead. Which means, I need to send my PS3 to sony. Although, because I went to the midnight release and played multi and single-player. I can say, it is definately an improvement on MW2.

Can't wait to actually play the game.

I'm a gamer. Right? :o And MW3 leaves me cold :)

But I'm happy for you that you enjoy the game :3

I do wonder what (more or less) neutral people think is the best of two, after playing both bf3 and mw3, even though it's hard to compare both games.

Every gamer has a different perspective!

Agreed. Example: I have the perspective of a Korean in that I love RTS games but when it comes to FPS shooters, realism mods aren't my fave. As such MW3 is a great game that I've been looking forward to (ON THE PC) for a while now.

... There's a reason why it's called a "series."

It's the next in line of a Modern Warfare series, so why SHOULD the guns be completely different? You got that in Black Ops. This isn't futuristic warfare. The game's not gonna make up random guns for you to use. It includes OTHER modern guns of this era and includes some from the last game. Missing the point.

The game is great. It has the same fast-paced and fun gameplay that made MW2 a great game (say whatever the fuck you will about it, if you didn't have fun playing MW2, you are simply incorrigible) and builds on the graphics, storyline, and weaponset of it. I HAVE fun playing MW3 because I don't need super ridiculous graphics that are more real than real to have fun.

Plus, I out-QS anybody.

Plus, I out-QS anybody.

1) This is World War 3 and within the first 10 minutes I was shooting a gun that look liked something straight out of Crysis, and firing it made the sound of the Nail gun from Fear.

2) Graphics? I have everything running on maxed settings and it looks like someone put slightly transparent sandpaper in front of my monitor. Also, how can you claim it builds on the graphics and then state you don't care about it?

3) The story is good but that doesn't justify the cost of the game, unless of course you re-target this with the genre "interactive movie" instead of "video game" I'm not even kidding about this, the game reminds me of Aqua Teen Hunger Force where if something hits the ground it explodes. Everything you'd want in an action movie, not a $60.00 game.

4) This game is very, very fun but why is it another $60.00? In one sitdown of 2 1/2 hours I got up to

The Eiffel Tower blowing the fuck up
and i'm unsure if the game is going to end as quickly as MW2 did, which indeed left me wanting more but definitely not for another $60.00

5) You are calling anyone who didn't like MW2 incorrigible when THAT was a re-skinned shorter version of the first (which is one of my favorite CODs) that also cost $60.00 yet you are defending this title which is yet ANOTHER recycled Modern Warfare?

They even used the same building.....well this is the first one somebody has noticed right away.

[video=youtube;b5dsOn06w1s]

what definition of incorrigible are you using?

It shouldn't be a called a series, when the original people who created the Call of Duty series were fired because they didn't agree with Activision hoarding peoples money over minute changes.

You're right, it is essentially the same as MW2, seeing as when it crashes it shows this error.

Also, not to mention you're defending a game when someone was just stating his opinions. Stop trying to back up a game when your "facts" have the spine of a jellyfish.

Personally, I do agree with the OP on reddit who posted saying this is the best review of this game thus far

Also, as far as it being graphically better, isn't that the idea of being a PC gamer?

Getting to play and see the best graphics that a game company "has to offer"

I was going to get this game, meerly because I had intended to play the single player because that's what I played Call of Duty for... the single player. Yet when I hear every user score saying that the game in a whole is shit. Pathetic.

Say what you will about battlefield but at least they were like "hey, let's take our game the next level and give the players the most bad ass visual experience possible" instead of "Let's release a $60 map pack".

You're "out quick scoping" ability isn't something to brag about.

Incorrigible as in uncorrectable. If you were expecting incredible graphics with unreal shots from MW3 OR MW2, you're setting yourself up to be disappointed. When has Call of Duty EVER been about that? MW3 continues the same style of gameplay that made its previous games great.

As far as the "facts" in that post, there are none. It's almost ALL opinion minus saying they built upon the graphics, storyline, and weaponset of MW2, ALL of which is true.

You're judging a game you don't even own? k...
