Reforging: if an item has spirit, reforge into haste. if an item has no spirit, reforge mastery or crit into spirit. if an item has no spirit or haste reforge mastery into spirit.

Protection: Str items with mastery/parry/dodge on them. Tanks with a 1h and shield

Reforging: if an item doesn't have mastery, reforge the stat that will give you the biggest mastery gain into mastery, even if it means doing parry->mastery. ideally your parry/dodge should be equal but if this is not the case reforge any extreme gains in one to the other, IE if your dodge is 16% and your parry is 20% reforge your parry into dodge until they are about even.

Retribution: Str items with mastery on them. 2h str/sta weapon is their deal

Reforging: get yourself to 8% hit cap and 26 expertise cap. reforge crit or haste first, there is a debate whether crit or haste is more beneficial to ret paladins but all are in agreement that mastery is the strongest secondary stat. when in doubt, reforge into mastery.

Hunter:

Marksmanship/Beast Mastery: Agi items with crit and haste on them. Bow/Crossbow/Gun and a 2H AGI STICK is preffered for their weapons

Arms: Str items with crit/mastery on them. A single 2h is their deal.

Rogue:

Subtlety: Agi items with haste/crit on them. Use 2 daggers with this spec, a fast offhand and medium (1.8) speed mainhand.

Reforging: get to 8% hit then you want haste and to achieve the 26 expertise cap. once expertise cap'd prioritize haste and crit. reforge out of mastery where you can.

Combat: Agi items with haste/hit on them. Use a slow agility 1hander in the mainhand and a faster (1.4 weapon speed) dagger in the offhand

Discipline: Int/Spirit items with mastery on them.

Note: All classes with a healing spec that have a caster intensive dps spec have the benefit of turning spirit->hit so less spirit is required for Shadow Priests/Elemental Shamans/Boomkins

Note3: how much spirit is enough? words of a wise healer: "get enough spirit to where you are comfortably not going OOM super fast and then get a little more"

The addons I use. There are a ton for every little thing. Curse has a host of them, so you can look up addons for things like specific classes and such.

Recount - Recount is a damage meter addon for World of Warcraft. The addon views activity in the combat log, and uses that information to provide tables and graphs showing the damage and healing distribution of a group or raid. (tracks things like DPS, total damage done, healing done, etc. over a single fight or a bunch of fights)

Deadly Boss Mods - Deadly Boss Mods is a boss alert mod. It consists of many individual "boss modules", mini addons that are designed to trigger alert messages and timer bars for one specific raid boss each. Instance modules will be loaded and enabled when you enter the corresponding instance. In most cases only one module will be running at any given time.

Healbot - An Add On for healer classes used to provide a more efficient interface for healers during gameplay.

Reforgelite - ReforgeLite is a lightweight reforging calculator that helps you figure out the optimal strategy to reforge your gear given your stat weights and caps without leaving the game.

Gatherer - Gatherer is an addon for herbalists, miners and treasure hunters in World of Warcraft. It's main purpose is to track the closest plants, deposits and treasure locations on your minimap.

Elitist Jerks is a great site to find detailed information on all the classes. Info includes, stat maximization, talent trees, glyphs, rotations, etc. All that good, nerdy stuff :)

So whats the best class for a starter? Nothing too complicated

nothing too complex? i'd say play either a mage (arcane spec) or play a warrior (arms isn't too complex). Thats my opinion, but in the end its your choice and your playstyle that'll dictate what you find "fun"

comming up with reforge? :D

if you want i can update my original post to have all reforges.
