Wingless
Lifehacker ran a cute little benchmark article on the major browsing platforms. I'm not surprised that IE8 was rated "goddamend awful" in all of the tests. Firefox wins on memory use, but Chrome takes the cake for speed on all accounts. http://lifehacker.com/5286869/lifehacker-speed-tests-safari-4-chrome-2-and-more But firefox does still have the customizability aspect running in its favor. <- Stated to avoid flaming. Papa John
Apparently however Chrome is suppose to come out with something like that. But really think Google needs to do File Hosting next because they most likely have a s*** load of servers.
Wingless
They've confirmed that they are looking to add extension-esque functionality in the future. They've already included basic greesemonkey support through a command line argument if that floats your boat. I'm more excited about Wave than anything else upcoming by Google. It's pretty spiffy.
