Angel
Try this: Theres a command you have to remove, an alias command:mat_antialias "0" Take out of your autoexec or config or something and it should be ok. Alt tabing is always kinda dodgy but yeah removing that command will stop the issue you have. Those 2 files will be in this directory: ~Steam\steamapps\youraccountname\counter-strike source\cstrike\cfg Quote from this source. Not sure if it will fix your problem as I don't get it, but give it a shot and comment back here what the result is. If that doesn't work or that command isn't in either of the 2 files, try running CS:S in windowed mode and alt-tabbing out.
enigma#
Play in Windowed mode Makes life a breeze imo xD To set it go to Options -> Video Find the field 'Display Mode', it should say 'Fullscreen'. Select it, it should let you toggle between 'Full screen' and 'Run in a window'. Select 'Run in a window' and try cycling in and out of CSS. Should be a tad better xD
dorito^
I play CSS on Win7 and have the same problem as you. If you do not want to play I'm windowed mode you can follow these steps to alt-tab out. 1. Alt-Tab out of CSS 2. Press Ctrl-Alt-Del 3. Open Task Manager 4. Tada! Out of CSS I do recommend playing in windowed mode but with your current resolution. Makes everything easier.

kimzy
This is what I do. I cant stand windowed mode. Lol same as you and r3v I sometimes have trouble using the overlay, sometimes I don't have problems with it at all.. I sometimes (when I'm rly patient and all) just restart css a few times when the message that you can use overlay using alt tab (etc etc) doesnt show up.. x

Swagg.v1
I play on Win7. I also play windowed mode now for ease, but when I played in regular mode at 1900x whatever resolution I never had a problem with freezing, with any resolution for that matter. Win7 Home Premium x64 if that makes any difference.
