gameacid13
Fuck Internet Censorship Exactly, if SOPA passes we WILL lose youtube, reddit, deviant art, and many more sites. This is a very poor way to stop piracy.

enigma#
Wikipedia is temporarily blacking out their website ATM. If you still want to use it, all you need to do is disable or BLOCK javascript on their website. I heard about Reddit blacking their website out as well, not sure when though/

Weeman
Sharing these videos and links are good and all, but do your part and actually follow through. Call your local representitives, call your state's senators, call the Senate Leader Harry Reid in DC and LET THEM KNOW that these bills will destroy the last safe haven of free speech with outlandish claims that it will "stop piracy" when we all know that will never happen. enigma#
When you craft a Bill that can restrict the freedom of the Internet, you are not going to be liked by many. Fortunately, one of the co-sponsors of PIPA has dropped support for his own bill after realizing that it was a terrible idea to begin with according to his Facebook page. Senator Marco Rubio, a co-sponsor of the PIPA Bill has had a change of heart and has pulled his support for the Bill. He states on his Facebook page: I have decided to withdraw my support for the Protect IP Act. Furthermore, I encourage Senator Reid to abandon his plan to rush the bill to the floor. Instead, we should take more time to address the concerns raised by all sides, and come up with new legislation that addresses Internet piracy while protecting free and open access to the Internet. The good news is that he has pulled his support, the bad news is that PIPA and SOPA are still around. But for PIPA, this is a major blow to the credibility of the Bill. Senator Rubio does state that Internet Piracy still needs to be addressed but PIPA would inhibit the freedom of the Internet. The usual banter that PIPA would actually protect jobs was the reason behind the Bill but at the end of the day, it would have killed the Internet that we know today. Consider this one small step in the direction of protecting our Internet freedom but the fight is far from over. interesting...
60Seconds
I already called Marco Rubio, Bill Nelson, and Rep. Lehtinen's offices and told them that they aren't getting any more campaign contributions from myself and my company if they vote for SOPA and PIPA. Also told them that I'm gonna convince the other developers not to donate too. Hope that helps. Wingless
We won't lose the sites. That's not how it works. It has nothing to do with whether you, or anyone else thinks that it's probable that they'll shut these sites down, it's that it's entirely within the scope of the bill that they CAN. This means that ANY site can be blocked with shitty DNS manipulation, and it invites oodles of random censorship. It's like if they passed a law where you couldn't paint any walls in your house blue, or the government would knock them down. It might not happen to YOUR house, but it could. I'm against it, but people are just misunderstanding the consequences of SOPA. IMHO SOPA will ruin the internet as a media for absolute free speech.
