Atomicnapalm
I've noticed, as well as others, that newer people are not reading/understanding the rules. Like rdm, nlr, prop surfing/prop climbing, prop block, door spamming, not understanding rules of the raid, disrespect, as well as not even reading the rules. I can't tell you how many times I've argued with Prune Face because he doesn't know the rules (he even admitted it) and accuses me of not knowing the rules. So i have no idea if there is a way that we could make the rules more visible or mandatory reading for new people. Also I've noticed plenty of bad mods. I've seen several times where they were the only admin on and the server was hell because they doesn't do shit until it happens to them. I don't know what we can do about the mods but that isn't too much of a problem. The new people is what we've had problems with. How about a ten question thing on the rules, if you get 4 wrong you get kicked. I have seen it plenty of times on other servers and it worked out pretty good. Btw this is for dark rp . FDR
Even if we put the rules on the server (MOTD). How many of the people will read it and follow them? How many of them will read it and not care? How many will not read it at all?
Atomicnapalm
Yeah true but the mods would see them fucking up and kick them. If the motd poped up when you logged on like wire mod does that help a little.
Shaolin
Atomicnapalm, you deal with trolls 24/7, Take a break bro. Relax.
Mark
We do have a system in game for the rules in a place everyone can read but it likes to break a lot. If an admin is being a jackass come into teamspeak and hit us up in the help desk, we love cleaning out the trash.
Polar
Alright I can answer the problem. We have tons of people joining the RP server and non of them will read the rules because they think it's not a big deal. Now we have admins on a lot and take care of the problem. But putting a mod in that you have to answer questions and if you get 4 wrong it will be a kick. That will take a long time to code in my opinion. We just have to deal with the trolls. If they break rules you make a Ban Report. No admins means make a ban report. I've dealt with 140+ trolls and they don't read the rules. We can't really change the players now can we? There will always be that one kid that will break the rules.
Atomicnapalm
Yeah true, it mostly has the biggest problems around 8:00pm and later into the night. It's most likely due to most of our good dark rp mods living in the americas. So yeah i guess i will start making ban reports for every troll and rule breaker i come across from now on xP. All i need is a screen shot or a video clip right?
AnonyHorse
yes in the form of a demo. type record "demoname" in console then stop in console when your done recording
Polar
Plus it would be stupid to have the mod for answering questions because are server population will drop at a low rate making the server un playable. Even so this people that know the answers will just tell there friends.
That1bacon
Rather than punish people for failing the quiz, why not reward players based on how many they get right? I think the quiz is a good idea in the wrong direction. If someone doesn't know the rules and misses out on a reward because of it, they will go learn the rules for next time. ZD-ShadowNinja
I think quizes are usless they waste your time, why would a person spend there time taking a quiz, why not just get punished for not reading!
silentdeath631
Rather, Make the MOTD have a countdown before you can close it so it sorta forces the person to look at it. Or as one server had put a eustion at the end of the MOTD instead of an Accept button that asks like what was the 5th word in Rule 3? Something along those lines. OR NSFW: Put a Pr0n picture in the MOTD then all the little kids will stare at it.. thus reading the rules ^.^ (lol don't do that ^^^ it's just a joke.) Where do I go to get someone to start on this one?
Cookie
There is no real way to get someone to read a set page of rules as you are discussing and if they do read the rules and understand them, what force not already set will cause them not to break said rules? Your problem is kids not following the rules, it is not kids not being able/not wanting to read.

I think not, its entirely possible to strap someone to a chair and put the set of rules infront of them forcing them to recite them from memory or death will follow...But still the rule quiz should be for admins, since half of them don't know them -.-

jajolt
Solving the NLR problem; Some servers have a screen pop up after you die that explains it and it won't close for 7 seconds-ish so if anyone breaks NLR it can be a kick because now it would be known that they're willing fully breaking NLR. jajolt
Our hg perp server has that. But DarkRP doesn't, I haven't played on perp a lot but I know DarkRP has a huge NLR problem, which is why there is a bunch of votekicks and demotions flying around on that server. And RDM, maybe there should be a screen that pops up asking you to state a reason you killed the person and if it's not a valid reason, the admin could kick them for RDM. Although that may disturb gameplay a little bit...
Atomicnapalm
Dark Rp does have a huge nlr and rdm problem. But as long as we always have a few mods on it should be good.
