Flux
With the addition of Stronghold and Zombie survival, Gmod division is starting to flourish. TTT is still kind of sad though, I love the game mode, but the only people that play on the server are clan members.... and when even clan members play, it's very very rare. I think a better place to put our resources is Gmod Theater. Like what I said on Green Ranger's post, there is a lot of money in that game mode, and a lot of fun. It would be GREAT publicity for HG. We could have a VIP system and a skin/hat system for the server which would be great for donations. This is just a radical idea I had, and I needed to get it out there. Ethan Mars
Yeah Gmod Theater would be nice +1 OR we could go to the already existing Gmod Theater server and start up movies in there.
Gravity Kitteh
OR we could just use youtube.
Ethan Mars
OR we could just use youtube. Some users prefer a Gmod Theater as their, "meeting place" or "gathering with internet friends". Youtube just lets you watch videos and comment with other people.
ZCOM
You have to think about the fact that the publicity will have to come from somewhere. Right now, stepping into to the "Gmod-Theater" realm would require constant attention to the server, and we would have to deal with some serious competition from other more dominant sites like GmodTheater.com, etc. In fact, I think that with the amount of code to deal with, and the potential for something going wrong, we would have to devote the entire division to babysitting the server almost constantly until the code allows it to "run itself" in a way. The advantage to the two new servers we just got is that they let us divide our attention a little more evenly, and on less projects at a time. Basically what I'm saying is that at this stage in the "Gmod-Theater" race, it will be easier to first focus on our two new servers, get them up to speed, and once we don't have to worry about them, we can then devote a good chunk of time and energy into the GMT Gamemode and give it the attention it requires in order to flourish. Generally speaking, GMT requires too much nurturing and time to grow compared to other gamemodes. Lastly, once the new servers begin to see more traffic it will be easier to then redirect attention to a new GMT server, where we stand now it would not get the attention it deserves, and quickly die-out. kimzy
I must agree with what ZCOM said, 2 new servers just got up and they will need some attention to get populated first, just throwing a bunch of servers online wont work, they'll just go empty when HG members don't feel like playing in them and that'll be the end of that. I kinda like the idea of watching youtube vids together on gmod though, I remember Apt talking about it once, it sounds cool, but I never really went to a server like that before.
