loncce
Hi all, I recently just picked up my Factory unlocked iphone 4S and everyone is talking about jailbreak. I have been looking at alot of sites, but there is so much information. This is my first iphone and I was just wondering if someone could fill me in as to what benefits downloading jailbreak will give me.As well, what are the Negatives? I cannot afford to replace this to go in and do some of the fixes that others are suggesting. This all sounds interting to me,but Iwant to have all ofthe facts before jumping in. Thanks to all that will respond
3V0Lu710N
Jailbreaking will remove the limitations on your iphone, instead of being limited to the App Store after jailbreaking an app called cydia will be installed on your phone and its like an app store but with more complex stuff and also used for pirating paid apps on the app store, and thus jailbreaking will allow you to do almost anything on your iphone. You will be able to download custom modifications to your phone like custom wallpapers on your springboard/lockscreen, changing the dock, different themes that change the look of the interface, having more apps in 1 row and alot more The bad side of jailbreaking is losing your warranty, if you have to take your iphone in for repair or something else be sure to go onto iTunes and do a factory restore on it. Seriously, I've had jailbroken 4 devices before and I've never had hardware problems. The warranty isn't a big deal anyway, If it was stolen and you didn't jailbreak it, you're not getting a replacement for free, as you have no proof it was stolen or anything. Although a problem unrelated to jailbreaking can happen, but it's very rare and havn't seen or experienced this myself. Jailbreaking pretty much removes any restriction on your iOS device. You can customize the look and feel of your springboard (home page, if you do jailbreak, you'll hear this term alot), as well as the functions for the buttons, or text around the springboard. It really is an amazing exploit of apples technology, and for some reason Apple wants its customers to stay un-jailbroken, for whatever reason. There is a problem though, if you picked up the iOS device on version 5.1, you may have to wait for a jailbreak to be released. Although, if you picked it up on any earlier update, you can easily jailbreak. If you want me to help you jailbreak you device, you can always PM me. I can help you.
