Mr.Tin
1st things first, I would not suggest spending less than $200 on a processor, but if you only have $100 to work with I would highly recommend amd, and if you have a microcenter near you, buy the mobo and CPU together and you get like $50 off, otherwise newegg or tigerdirect is your best bet. Hope this helps you.
DIAMELO
AMD FX-6100 is the best one out of the 3 you listed.

Plaayer
In your situation, I would wait a bit to accumulate the ~$30 and grab the FX-6100 as it is a huge improvement over the two others that you listed. However, if you are tight on a budget and you immediately, I would go with the Phenom II X4 965. It is older technology as far as manufacturing processes go, but it does beat out the FX-4100 in most scenarios.
Devistator
Get the 6100. Save up for it.
BranHorse
http://www.guru3d.com/article/amd-fx-8150--8120-6100-and-4100-performance-review/6 Idk to me the chips are damn near identical performance wise. 965 is a very solid chip and the 6100 MIGHT give you a little boost The 4100 is a terrible chip. Doesn't even compete with the 4 core athalon
Magic
Thanks for the opinions guys! At this point i'm in no hurry with getting this part. It is only thirty more bucks anyway. FX-6100 here I come!

onison13
the fx 4100 has horrible benchmarks for gaming. get the phenom I was just about to post that but he beat me to it. the FX is good if you has no GPU. I have one in one of my guest computers and it plays CSS and WoW on good settings but its no bueno for those who have GPUs and need the power, your best bet is a Phenom, go quad (six if you have the extra cash) so you wont have to eff with it for awhile. Might be true, but don't forget the i5 2300/2400 AMD FX-6100 is the best one out of the 3 you listed. No. the fx 4100 has horrible benchmarks for gaming. get the phenom True. Ok so here are the two processors I have narrowed it down to based off the money I have to spend right now. Phenom 2 In your situation, I would wait a bit to accumulate the ~$30 and grab the FX-6100 as it is a huge improvement over the two others that you listed. However, if you are tight on a budget and you immediately, I would go with the Phenom II X4 965. It is older technology as far as manufacturing processes go, but it does beat out the FX-4100 in most scenarios. I would not wait for any FX and even when it gives me 8 x 10Ghz NO. Get the 6100. Save up for it. No. Thanks for the opinions guys! At this point i'm in no hurry with getting this part. It is only thirty more bucks anyway. FX-6100 here I come! Oh god no... Listen, the Phenom 2 965 is a really good one. Even when I'm not such an AMD-fan, the x6 black edition and x4 965 are the onliest I'd suggest. The 965 is in most cases unlockable to 6 cores which then would simply be a x6 and also as strong as the x6. Btw the x4 pwn the 6-cores and sometimes even the 8 cores from the shitdozer series of AMD. These CPU's only make sense... ok they never make sense but the 8 core FX is only good for rendering and such, definitelly not for gaming. Wrong http://www.overclock.net/t/1005739/what-unlocks-the-unlockable-cpu-reference-list 965 is deneb (non zosma based) Only zosmas unlock to pentas or hex. Heres the deal on the 4core denebs vs the thurbans (6core 1090t or 1100t). They are basically the same chip. The six core simply has more cores. Now for gaming the denebs (965) will give you a SLIGHT fps increase 1-2 fps difference. Now with every day task and rendering the 6 cores are going to shine. So if 1-2 insignificant fps difference is really going to bother you then grab a 965. But if you are looking for a solid chip with great everyday speed and decent oc capabilities (trust me reaching 4 ghz on a thurban is easier than on a deneb) If i were you, id grab the thurban 1090t or 1100t. ALSO DID ANY OF YOU NERDS LOOK AT THE DATE OF THE LAST OP POST? OVER A MONTH AGO???
