Cave Johnson, we're done here.

What/who do you guy think won E3?

I don't really consider E3 a competition for the 'best stuff coming out'. I think of it as a way to know what's coming up and what we can expect out of developers until the next E3.

Why Microsoft Won E3 2012

The simple fact of the matter is that while everyone else focused on just gaming innovation, Microsoft moved into all realms of entertainment. They gave the Xbox more purpose then "just a gaming system" which is why it will continue to win out in the long run. In terms of Ubisoft Vs EA (which is the only competition for them considering they don't make console gaming systems and it is two completely different worlds, making it impossible to accurately compare them to Microsoft, Sony, or Nintendo who primarily focus on console development instead of games) I do agree that Ubisoft won by a landslide, albeit their host really could not have been more indifferent. Is it just me or did she try to act like it was a board of directors meeting about quarterly fiscal reports more so then a gaming press conference? A distinct lack of emotion compared to the other hosts who seemed like they cared, or could fake it well enough, about their product and company.

Why Microsoft Won E3

You're kidding, right? Microsoft's problem is that they never focus on 'Microsoft' as a company, buy instead focus only on 'Xbox' as a product. Why isn't it called Xbox Press Conference? At least Sony bring in their Mobile division, and are not adamant that the PS3 is better than anything every 10 minutes (no, I'm not trying to ignite a console war).

I would personally rather see microsoft branch out for free online, and better games than being able to watch netflex and espn on it for an additional price after you buy the gold.

The Press Conferences are centered around the company if they are an independent publisher and the console if they are the hardware manufacture. Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo don't focus on making games, most of their triple A titles come from third party publishers, they are there to create the "best" platform for the publishers to bring their content to the consumer. The truth of the matter is that Sony failed to produce any legitimate traction on the latter front, they are still pushing their "move" motion controller which in all honesty has paled in comparison, both in terms of sales and content produced from the hardware, to Microsoft's Kinect and Nintendo's WII/U. On the matter of saying Microsoft using the tag line "x is better with xbox" it is the same marketing strategy that both Sony and Nintendo used during the event. I believe Sony even used their "experience only on playstation" tag line more then Microsoft used theirs. The bottom line is that if you are looking towards Microsoft, Sony, or Nintendo for groundbreaking new IPs then you are going to be sorely disappointed. All three companies will continue to play it safe and have their respective studios create sequels for exclusive titles they know they will be able to make a profit on. You should be looking towards publishers like Ubisoft's for fantastic new IP's like Watch Dog and hardware developers like Sony for hardware based innovation. Which other then the gimmicky, but still a legitimate possibility, "wonderbook" they really didn't do much of. Microsoft succeeds as a company because they understand that E3 is a trade show to showcase their flagship product the Xbox 360 and how it will continue to evolve in the future and not the limited scope of just games being released within the next year.

The issue with the free online model, that you can see Sony has figured out finally after so many years with the new "Playstation Plus", is that it just doesn't work. It is great in terms for the consumer but it is simply not a sustainable business model. The cost for servers, content, updates, technical support, ect. requires funds that then have to be subsidized by other revenue in the company. Xbox Live and Microsoft has the capacity to offer deals like exclusive dlc or advanced copies of dlc (a la Activision/Call Of Duty) because they can use the revenue from their service to put towards such exclusivity. It is no coincidence that Playstation has historically received later patch updates then Xbox customers have had because Microsoft financially encourages developers to put the Xbox 360 ahead of other consoles. Sure it is an additional price per month, but when you consider the benefits, I would much rather pay $5 a month then wait a month to get content for all my games.

Tobuscus Steals the show every E3 :P

Either way, Ubisoft released a lot of info on upcoming games such as AC3, Far cry 3, and the new game their coming with, whatever it's called. Anyway, yeah, Ubisoft.

Watching Toby and that girl try to be funny was fucking awkward man.

I find this kind fo good, like GrayLlama said, i dont find E3 like a competition for the best games comming out, it's just the new games from big companies that are coming out like Square Enix, Activision, Treyarch, Ubisoft, etc
