I watch shin chan. That's all. Cause it's SO FUNNY :D

But I do not see a difference between MLP and anime.

Ok, anime = people, mlp = ponies.

The way they're drawn might be different too, but that's it.

MLP is a normal cartoon because it is targeted toward the normal cartoon audience, pre-teens and immature adolescents. The fact that it branched out toward older men is an exception to the rule, one that doesn't happen often. Only other cartoons that I can think of that have a significant adult following despite their intended audience are Ren & Stimpy and Spongebob Squarepants. The former branched out after the writer retooled it toward an older audience (crude humor and gross visuals). The latter branched out from irony... adults tried to swag up this gay sponge who had gay buttsex with a starfish.

Anime is really no different. Most animes are geared toward a younger audience though some branch out because of content/visuals toward an older (teenage-young adult) sector. Anime that is MEANT for older viewers has a different name. In Japan it's called ecchi... here? Hentai.

i liked death note. roommate also had me sit through Elfen Lied, Trigun, and another one i can't remember. also laz you forgot animaniacs in that list, the huge adult following is the reason it got pulled (advertisers for the show weren't aiming their adverts at adults).

Yeah animaniacs followed the same irony of Spongebob. These adorable looking rat... squirrel things... got swagged out in 5XL black Ts and fitted caps.

Actually there is a difference between ecchi and hentai.

Ecchi=Softcore

Hentai=Hardcore

Also, personal favorite right here.

"Daimon Kaito is a high school boy, who loves puzzles. One day, the president of the student council gives him a mobile device and it leads him to an underground ruin buried in the school. He challenges an "insolvable puzzle" hidden in the ruin with his girlfriend Nonoha, but the puzzle turns out to be the dangerous "The Puzzle of Sage" created by the black society "POG". He manages to solve the puzzle but it's the beginning of a puzzle battle against POG."

This is the only anime I could find that comes close to Death Note, Code Geass, and One Outs in terms of having a genius main character.
