LazaHorse
I don't care if people bring kids/babies to restaurants. If there is a kid that won't sit the hell down and/or shut the fuck up, I say something to the kid and parent. If a baby cries, I suck it up and hope that there is someone in that party that can step out and calm it down. Or realize it's time to go if it doesn't stop crying. My hero. Yeah my mom doesn't afraid of anything. She's gone up to parents whose kids were acting up at church/a restaurant and straight up called them bad parents for how their kids were acting. Rudabaga
I have a pretty good story about this subject. I was with my parents and we were going out to eat for my dads birthday and we decided to go to a fancy restaurant. We get there and get our drinks and already order our food. Then this family full of about 4 children under the age of 5 sit two tables away from us. All of the kids kept screaming and being annoying as shit that it got to the point that we were about to leave. Right when my dad got up I stuck my hand on his shoulder and said, "This is your birthday and you should enjoy it, I'll handle it." So I get up and go up to their table and politely ask if they would stop being so loud. They laughed and my face and one of the kids threw a piece of ice at me. I got out of control and drop kicked the 2 year old in the face. Then their dad got up and I karate chopped him in the face and he ran like a wounded puppy. After that my mom got scared and said, “You’re movin’ with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air.” I whistled for a cab and when it came near The license plate said fresh and it had dice in the mirror If anything I could say that this cab was rare But I thought, “Nah, forget it. Yo home to Bel-Air!” I pulled up to the house about 7 or 8 And I yelled to the cabby yo holmes smell ya later Looked at my kingdom I was finally there To sit on my throne as the prince of Bel-Air. Cal45
QQ more red... My worst dining experience was at a PF Changs(worst place to eat ever) once. First off it took forever for our food to be served to us. It was me and 2 of my friends and we just finished watching me myself and Irene. I ordered a chicken dish and recieved a plate of no chicken and just hot peppers and noodles. My 2 companions had gotten garlic butter shrimp which was partially undercooked and bland. While I argued with the manager about how shitty the food was and proceeded to force him to try each plate and then have him tell me that it was shit as well. The server, the dumb, worthless existance of space that she was had the nerve to try to sell us dessert and after we finished cursing her out tried to give us the bill. So I borrowed the her pen and wrote "GO FUCK YOUR SELF" across the whole front of the receipt and left. Yes Billy those parent were assholes and should be slapped across the face rick james style God damn dude do you have any respect at all for other people? Servers bust their asses for like $4-5/hr base wage. It's quite apparent that you have never been a server before, but neither have I. Yet, I have enough sense to realize that my table isn't the center of their universe. Servers have a lot going on at once and a lot to deal with. Maybe she was new. More importantly, I've always lived my life by the principle, "you don't f*** with the people that handle your food." To OP, yes I see it all too often. Parents ignore their kids that are acting up instead of doing what they should and spanking the shit out of them. Blame the bullshit PC society that we have today for that. Sorry you didn't appreciate my reaction to the situation, but I am keeping to what happened as much as possible. I understand that they aren't getting paid the most, I've worked some pretty shitty positions as well, but the fact is you are getting paid to provide a certain level of service to the customer and when your not providing that level of service required by your employer you leave your self open to bad situations happening. I was calm and tried to work with her and after the situation was not resolved I was not. Since I was tired and fed up with the bullshit that was going on that evening I reacted in that way. I'm not going to drive back over there and apologize for it. It happened, I do not intend on ever going back there nor will I ever go to another one of their restaurants. I not just going to remain quiet and enjoy subpar service when I'm treating my friends to a meal. It would be disrespectful of me as a host. Some Parents are just too embarrassed and worried about what the other people around them will think about their families and choose to ignore the fact that their kids are being disrespectful. Sometimes the fact that they are in a public place just puts too much pressure on them to uphold a perfect image of family, or they simply don't give a shit. Doesn't matter, if they can't handle their kids there's this wonderful thing that they should have done before they had them called an abortion. To the guy who said that the server was new, that's not an excuse. The manager should have taught her correctly and he should get his shit together and get on top of the game. Just as the manager in my case should have told that family to shut their kids the fuck up or get the fuck out.
Arclyte
Gotta hand it to some people in HG. They may be narcissistic sociopaths, but they let you know about it upfront.
