Money saving?

For anything you buy, round the final cost up to the next dollar and put the remainder in a savings account. (Or a physical vessel of some sort)

Eg. Final Cost = $4.30

Rounded = $5.00

Amount into savings = $.70

It's a simple and easy way to saving money, but not exactly the way you would want to go if a large sum was needed to be saved.

They even have debit cards that do that for you.

I have not bought any food for the past 6 years. Panera bread, and whole foods throw away a ton of useable foods. This might sound gross to some but, I actually eat better this way than if I were to buy it, because most of it is organic or the expensive parts of meat.

I have actually been looking at a lot of these for the past couple of years that all were scams, mind shooting me some that worked for you?

Please do explain. Do you just walk in there and ask for their leftovers or are you dumpster diving at Panera Bread?

Both, they are usually very nice. They throw away all the bread every day anyways, its store policy.

Wait what? In what method do they throw it away that you are able to eat it? Do they bag it up separately from other waste or something?

Well there's 2 things they throw out bread and waste, the waste is already bagged separately in their garbage cans inside the store, so they will usually just bag the bread into another bag and throw it away. I've never seen someone go out of their way to throw away the bread with the garbage. I only go to panera once a week or so though.

Here are some pics, all of which was taken from dumpsters (except the milk)

I didn't read the other replies, so if I repeat, MY BAD!

What really works for me is have the bank take a certain amount out of the paycheck before I even get the money. That's put in a savings account that can be touched (because I am responsible lol) and it just builds up from there.

I don't know, I like my food fresh and I wouldn't feel good taking food from a dumpster. The bread's probably hard by the end of the day, so thats a turn off too.

I did not post what I posted for you to judge me, or what I do. The food is fresh, expiration dates are usually weeks incorrect than the actual expire date. I've never gotten a foodbourne illness ever in my life. Bread does not go bad 1 day O_O.

Actually yeah, bread is hard by the end of the day. Don't you like that fresh out of the oven feeling?

So wait is this you not knowing what you are talking about, trying to argue with me again?

When was the last time that you bought fresh bread? By the evening and maybe if your lucky, the next morning, it isn't fresh anymore. That is, if it isn't injected with tons of artificial shit to keep it "fresh". I would know, I buy bread at Whole Foods everyday.

Awesome, one of my favorite things to talk about. :D I feel your pain from personal experience. Believe me, there are ways to save money quickly. After I got back from deployment I had quite an enormous amount of money that should not have been in possession of a 21 year old. A lot was spent, and damage control had to be implemented for what stupid stuff I blew it on. This money was regained through a little effort and discipline.

People who see me enter "save mode" couldn't believe the strides I took to save money. I stopped buying monster energy drinks and saved over $200 a month. Cigarettes were even more shocking because I saved so much more than I had anticipated. I gave up dipping and started to add those funds I would have spent on tobacco to my savings. On Friday nights when I was to go out and spend money on two cases of Keystone I put that money in savings too. If you're going grocery shopping and get the store membership card discounts take the money you saved and put it away in to your savings. Always buy in bulk too since price drops with quantity. A lot of the brands at grocery stores are exactly the same thing as the generic; consider the difference in price now and when you get the discount from user your discount card. Buy those instead and put the difference of what you would have spent in to savings. I cannot stress enough that restaurants are what killed my spending. The easiest thing to do is stop eating at restaurants because you can make everything at home which can be far more healthier for you.

Now if you are thinking short or long term investments then I can also help you there. :)
