Dealing with Illegal Weapons, as a cop

I've heard a couple of different things from different admins but I'd like to know if there is an official answer. As a cop, I notice many people with illegal weapons on their back [AK's, M4A1's, Uzi's] and I'm not exactly sure what to do when I see them. For non-illegal weapons, I just ask them to take it off their backs; but if it's illegal, is there a different procedure? Do I tell them to take it off, knowing that they'll still have it? Do I just request a warrant using /radio and then arrest them once it's granted? I'd like to know if there is a specific way with dealing with this.

1. Draw your tazer or pistol .

2. Confront the person asking them to put it away or remove it.

 

Depending on reaction you will either shoot to kill or taze ifnthey pull it on you or if its put away you walk away.

 

Any gun on a players back is illegal in public as is any gun in there hand. On there own property they may have pistols and shotguns for protectionist. They may not aim at friendly people or cops passing by unless there a threat.

If its a raid and someone is in the house with a weapon make sure they're not the owner before going crazy but other than that they summed it all up

this isnt rl, you have enough time to taze them if they put gun in hand. a cop aiming his gun at me normally shows hes gonna be a fail cop anyway i respond best to nice officers who say hey put it away please. rather than put it away or die

Isn't it still that when you do shoot you have to be shooting to kill? You can't shoot to injure? (RL not per question atm)

 

@thread - the basic answer is you can't arrest/shoot them for having a weapon out unless when you ask them to put it away they don't.
