Recently, my moms company found that an employee was stealing from their company. They confiscated her work phone and in an effort to find more evidence towards possible motives or money stolen, they would like to access her phone. Unfortunately, she is not willing to tell them nor will AT&T help for obvious reasons. So what i'm asking is, is there anyway to access a password protected phone without factory resetting?

They put a password on the phone for a reason... if her phone is completely updated (because of known exploits) their is no way to get through it. Even apple would say that you need to factory reset if you forgot your password they dont help at all

Factory resetting the phone would be the only way to get back in. If her phone is jail broken then the company may be able to ssh into the phone. If I were you, I would back the phone up to a computer, then wipe it completely and hand it to them. When they give it back just restore the phone with the backup and your all good

EDIT: I usually do this when my parents take my 4s away :P
