Mr.Beck
So I'm going back to another year of college again, and will be needing a good laptop for work and for gaming. My old laptop fried up because of the mother board. So I was wondering is this laptop good for gaming and can it be left on for a long period of time? http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/hewlett-packard-hp-pavilion-m7-17-3-laptop-featuring-intel-core-i7-3610qm-m7-1078ca-silver-m7-1078ca/10208632.aspx
Sato
While I don't really do laptops and there (in my opinion) are no cheap "gaming" laptops under 1000$, that laptop looks good enough to run source games but not much else.
Xander
Pretty much what sato said, your going to need a laptop with more power to run games. If you could tell me which games I could find you one to give you an idea of the cost
3V0Lu710N
ivy bridge i7 8 ram its all good except for the built in graphics, you may be able to run source games like sato said but don't count on it to run any other ones..
General Red
I got a dell xps15z for 1k and it has a gt 540m 2gb with i7 2.2 turbo to 3.2 (or something like that) 750g 7.2k rpm hdd and 8gb ddr3 and if anything fails they come to you and fix it in like 2 days. (also has bluray and hdmi out and wireless hotspot etc) I love my dell, it runs arma OA (dayz) and any source game no problem. You running anything WELL on that integrated graphics is unlikely. For 100 more you can find yourself a seriously powerful laptop. Also if you talk to dell and be all high and mighty with them they can cut you a serious deal. Look into it, might as well. ThePiegonMonkey
I believe it is a waste of money to buy something so expensive, but have it run games no better then the $320 laptop I'm using right now. It would be a better investment to buy a true "gaming" laptop.
