Artillery
Hey guys. I had a brief conversation with The Malkin the other day about this where he admitted that he thought about turning our Custom Server into a Custom Deathmatch server and I agree with it. It's a shame that the custom server doesn't attract much attention. However, I do believe that if it was to be converted into a Deathmatch server with a nice set of maps, it could potentially be worth the money that you fork out to have open all the time. The reason I say this is because of just how popular our vanilla deathmatch servers are like Office and Dust 2 as well as Iceworld.
Master
tried a custom death match before there was a real D2DM. Didn't work out. No one joined and barely ever got 6+ people unless it was only HG people there
ttaM
We have a D2DM server? Hm, must not be that popular no one ever talks about it.
Artillery
Really? Didn't know we had a custom DM server at one point. I'm sure this is a forbidden word here but... Noobgalore used to have a hugely successful deathmatch server with huge map rotation set - it's empty these days because they changed the ip and... died. Oh well. checkster
the custom dont get regulars couse there is no red line through the maps. Why would annyone play a range of maps that dont resemble each other ? Like the scoutzknives i love, but then some wakko aim_ag map acure with byzones, now thats just not rigth. In my opinion thats why there are no players there. It's like running a gg server with zombiemod.. Just my thougts

It's like running a gg server with zombiemod.. Just my thougts At one point a while ago, the custom server used to have a small niche of people who would regularly play. The broad range of map types that you noted was there as well. Votemap/rtv and the abundance of admins took care of unwanted maps. What's destroyed that niche was the multiple ip changes that have occured over time, along with what I would assume to be a general decline in people who want to play custom maps. TL;DR life sucks
