jajolt
Hey, So my build for my computer I have two options. AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103727) vs Intel Core i5-2400 Sandy Bridge 3.1GHz (3.4GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 2000 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115074) What's better and do you suggest a certain mobo for either one? Much appreciated
ExGBrian
The i5 is the better processor in this situation since its a intel and pretty much as strong as the phenom
^TheRumor^
The i5 will give you better numbers in terms of synthetic benchmarking, but you wouldn't be able to tell from a gaming perspective. They're both great, it's all about what you want to pay.
enigma#
http://www.anandtech.com/show/4310/amd-phenom-ii-x4-980-black-edition-review/7 http://www.neoseeker.com/Articles/Hardware/Reviews/amd_pii_x4_980_be/ In addendum to what Rumor said, the i5 (if you're willing to swallow a slightly more expensive cost), is well worth it. On AVERAGE, lower power consumption and higher framerate for CPU-dependant games.
