AnonyHorse
An ssd for a build thats under 1k...I wouldnt suggest that. Put more money into your video card
^TheRumor^
Choosing an intel platform for a budget build isn't practical, use AMD for this case.

^TheRumor^
Great CPU choice, I recommend the rear exhaust 570 here.
jajolt
Is the AMD unlocked for overclocking? If not I won't mind the extra $100 for an i5 that overclocks (2500k)
Plaayer
Is the AMD unlocked for overclocking? If not I won't mind the extra $100 for an i5 that overclocks (2500k) I do believe that their "Black Edition" thing means it is unlocked for overclocking, however I'm not 100% sure. I do know that the 965 is a great overclocker, however. The closest I could get to your <$630 price point with the AMD Phenom II X4 965 and a GTX 570 was $700 before tax (everything in this build has free shipping). Of course, you could change things. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/fbdj If you saved up a bit more, I would recommend you change that CPU cooler to further increase your overclocking potential or switch over to the Intel platform. General Red
630 would prolly be ok for that build. Dont forget (unless u have parts) that you will need a hdd, cd, case, CPU Cooler, etc. on a personal note, i tend to steer away from off brand mobos and psus etc.
^TheRumor^
In my experience, I've had nothing but rupturing capacitors and a multitude of other defects concerning ASRock mobos. I'm not saying don't buy them, just heir on the side of caution when considering it. Raidmax and Rosewill are both unreliable brands, in terms of reliability and stability, Corsair or Antec lead the industry.
WhyYouNoDie?
Corsair leads everything. I got a mobo from AsRock, after I googled them and they got really good reviews on customer service. So I bought it. The stuff wasn't labeled to great, but I got it set up fine and dandy.
jajolt
Okay, so to stay withing my budget I have finally, yes, a solid build. But with one question. I really won't be going past source games, no bf3, etc etc. So I picked this out (GPU): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102908 Right now, because I have no graphics card (in the CPU, really sucks) the Intel® G41 Express Chipset for my graphics card. I can't run perp. Literally. Whenever I've been able to run perp it's lagged me the fuck up and recently, my client crashes when I launch it. CPU is Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 I'm looking to run this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103960 So, would the combination of the products be able to run perp with little to no lag? enigma#
imo it depends on what you're talking about Corsair is a really good brand but as far as I know, there are a lot of better products out there from other companies. Based on what you're looking for, for example, if you need a high power PSU (>1000 W), Kingwin has really nice PSUs for a decent price. Back to your question at hand, if you're going to play source games this thread might give you some ideas: http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1959508 I'm not sure why you want to overclock if you're playing mostly Source games. You might gain some framerate and some synthetic benchmarking performance through overclocking but that's about it.
jajolt
Okay. To le build: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811144243 - Case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131758- Mobo http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102908 - GPU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371044- PSU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819106010 -CPU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145345- 8 gigs ram (Will upgrade to 16 later on, but for the initial build I'll go with 8) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152185- HDD Subtotal: $667.93 It's about $20 over budget but it's fine, all parts are under $200, so we're good.
