Jadis
Hey all. I got about 10000 mp3s and my music folder is completely unorganized. I'm going through it now and I'm at like D in the folder listing, haha. Anyway, I'm gonna use this program called Picard to help organize the metadata and tag songs and stuff. I was wondering what do you guys do about albums that have multiple artists on it? Like, I really hate it when I have a techno album or something with 15 different tracks with different artists, and then my music player has all the artists listed. Does anyone else find that annoying? I mean it ain't a problem but I have so many compilation albums like that that my Artist category in my music player will have a ton and I can't remember what DJ is for what and crap. What do you guys do about it?
enigma#
I would think music databases like gracenote or discogs will help ya =D I don't know I don't have alot of music myself but when I did have a larger music collection, I relied on those databases to pool the right info. youthedog
I download music that's properly tagged and named.
Jesus2
I listen to alot of electronic music. I use iTunes. I'll either purchase or download the song and organize it myself. Almost every electronic song and its info can be found on beatport.com. Just search the name of the song and the artist who made it (or remixed it) and it will give you the label, album art, album artist and remixer etc.

-O-P-rime
For collab albums I usually just change the artist to the album name and remember who made it.
