Deleting Old Win 7 Partition - Won't Work

The facepalms... <_<

Before we do anything, first of all, screenshot your C and D drives and post it here.

If we try and format the D: without taking into account what it has, you could potentially make your computer unbootable.

Based on how these partitions are aligned on the drive (assuming you don't have another disk management software), you would be only able to format D: and create another "D:".(I assume you're formatting D and not trying to format C:)

First right click on your C: partition and make it 'Active' then you can format the D:\

You will need your Windows 7 disk to fix this seeing as your old partition is probably still marked as the System Partition in the BCD.

Restart your computer and boot from your Windows 7 disk. Go to Startup Repair and HOPEFULLY it will fix the BCD properly to point to your current installation C:\.

Yup... you have two system partitions. The old installation is still considered bootable by your BCD but not the primary.

You'll have this choice:

Another possibility is to use a Live-CD to fix your partitions up manually but you'll still have to fix your BCD.

As I suspected, BCD is fucked because you have your old installation of Windows intact and listed in the boot manager <_<

:/ after following the guide and doing start up repair, it just stops with an underscore in the top left corner.

Trying fixmbr and fixboot from the cmd on recovery disk.
