Plaayer
I'm just going to list some of my ideas to make our PERP server better. Yeah, some of these suggestions are probably hard to implement, but who knows. And I know that about 95% of these will probably not be implemented due to past experiences, so my feelings will not be hurt. I just want to get these out there so I don't feel like I did nothing. Feel free to criticize, comment, or agree with my statements. 1) Lowering job time requirements. This is especially targeted towards our new players. Medic: Time reduced to 1 hour. 1 hour is sufficient enough so that players can get somewhat used to the server and to at least, read the rules. Medic has to be the least harmful job if given to a new player. The car isn't fast and handles fine, you're not given a gun, etc. It's not rocket science to be a medic, and those who do not do the job can be easily demoted/blacklisted. Firemen: Time stays at 4 hours. So, no changes here. Secret Service: Time stays at 8 hours. However, the job should require an "Officer" ranking in the police stat. Mayor: Time increased to 12/18 hours. Right now, anyone can become mayor at any time (I believe.) They can random warrant, make stuff legal that not supposed to be, etc. Police Officer: Time reduced to 12/18 hours. 24 hours is a bit much, and it's probably long enough to make people find more servers. After 12/18 hours, players should have a basis on what the rules are and how to be a correct cop. Again, those who do wrong can be taught the right way via mods/admins. SWAT: Time reduced to 36 hours and still requires "Officer" ranking in the police stat. This makes it better and easier for those to become SWAT, which in our server, is just a beefier cop. Police Chief: Time reduced to 5 days. Even for the new members who purchase GOLD, 1 week is a lot. If you play 4 hours every day for a month (or roughly a month), it's still not enough. This should alleviate some of the problems. 2) General gameplay changes. Make gene rests time restricted, at no cost. Have it like some MMO's, where you are allowed 1 gene reset once a week. This helps new players by giving them a chance to change their genes in the beginning if they screw up. Update the rules in the F1 menu. Most of our newer players only look at said F1 menu and don't bother to go on our forums. It makes it easier for mods/admins to moderate so new players don't have to come here to see what extra rules we have, and so that things are not left untouched. Nerf the shotgun... again. This is pretty self explanatory. As much as I love the shotgun, it does need to be adjusted. Increasing spread (not sure if possible) or lowering damage per pellet will make people use different guns. Make it an up close, in your face weapon, not a sniper as it is right now. Introduce more weapons. The last weapon that was introduced was the M4A1, and I believe that's around the time where we introduced cocaine, LSD, etc. I'm not sure how it works anymore since CS:S doesn't seem to mount on GMOD anymore, but the Steam workshop has tons of stuff. Death costs should vary by a percentage of a player's "total value", e.g. cars and money in wallet/bank. Let's say, 0.2%. That means a person with $500k of "total wealth" will only lose $1000. However, a person with $5mil in "total wealth" (me for example) will lose $10k. Yes, there are problems with this. OR, you could read the next one which is another option. Death costs should have a larger minimum to maximum death cost. $500 seems like a lot to a newcomer, and $2k seems almost nothing to a wealthy one. Make the range, lets say, $250-$10k. It adds balancing that has been needed for awhile. It is very easy to gain money in this game. This makes it so that death means more to the wealthy, and not as drastic to a newcomer. Make all props able to be shot through, but shooting through props/walls will reduce damage. This will reduce this "GOLD dominance" that exists in our server. Fridges frozen in a "peephole" configuration make it impossible for new players to raid. It adds a new element of skill into the game, not who can hide better behind a fridge. 3) Reworking cars. This is probably a lot to ask for, but read please. Focus RS: For ~50 grand, this car has been way too fast from Day 1. Since it is also a "premium" model, it's negated a lot of options for those without GOLD. The 350k Murcielago doesn't appeal to people since the Focus is probably better. Nerf it (60mph top speed, for example) or increase the price. Bugatti: I love the 180mph top speed, as does every other Bugatti owner. Decrease the "gas mileage" so there are repercussions to driving the fast as fuck car. This might also reduce CDM'ing, as people will drive slower cars so they don't have to drain their wallets. This might also increase the popularity of the "lower tier" cars. More cars! And if you read until the end, good job. You've read my essay. There might be more stuff to say, but I personally cannot think of anything else as of right now. I might reply with more things, but we'll see what happens. Thanks for reading. You will receive an imaginary cookie. Edited January 3, 2013 by Plaayer
Silly
I think its great, and i especially like the idea of lowering the police cheif amount of playtime required. in my case, i have roughly 5 1/2 days played (ive stopped playing for awhile) and i really want to be a police chief, but need 2 more days. this is why im waiting on buying gold/perp cash for a bit until i reach 7 days. I can see where you're coming from, but I personally see SWAT getting 1 shot by shotguns from across streets daily.

Plaayer
Some things have been addressed and implemented into the game. Those that were implemented have been stroked through. ref: http://hellsgamers.c...perp-changelog/ EDIT: Is it "stroked through?" That sounds incorrect to me.
