The Fancy Derp >PU< Posted December 25, 2012 Share Posted December 25, 2012 I usually play cs:s as is my division but as of recently i have aquired new hardware and did not have windows so i had to install on linux but now i cannot play cs:s only red orchestra 1 and tf2 anyone know a solution? The Fancy Derp >PU< Posted December 26, 2012 Author Share Posted December 26, 2012 Well now i have to get a new gpu because amd drivers do not support my card anymore and ubuntu was detecting my card but whenever i booted up catalyst center it said it could not detect my amd/ati product was going to get a new gpu anyhow so whatever. I also disabled the onboard video but that didn't change much. And lastly i tried installing previous drivers that supported my card but that ended in failure going to get a Nvidia GEforce GT 640 2GB btw. Mint is a lot more user friendly and more for the beginner, if you are said beginner, otherwise use the program known as WINE to code convert but be careful because if you break your WINE your are going to whine. Ubuntu is not bad for gaming if it is configured correctly tho it is definitely not the superior operating system when it comes to gaming. It is doable using Wine or any type of virtual windows...of course that would require you to have a windows activation key. but VMware is good for vboxing windows. best bet is wine tho. how is Ubuntu looking these days?
