Jajolt's Server Suggestions

Idk if this is the right forum or not but w/e

I had some server suggestions that I'd just like to bring to tf2 staff's attention--

Capture the flag can be really fun if its done right. (Right map, etc)

Goal is to capture the opposing team's flag (breifcase) and complete the capture limit. If it is not completed, then there's sudden death round.

Full description (from official tf2 wiki):

[spoiler=Description]Capture the Flag features both RED and BLU bases, each containing its own Intelligence briefcase (also known as "The flag" or "The Intelligence"). The goal for both teams is to capture the enemy's Intelligence until they have reached the game's capture limit (default limit is 3 captures) while preventing their enemy from achieving the same.

Both team's Intelligence are typically located deep within their territory, usually in a symmetrical location from each other, in an area known as the "Intelligence Room". To pick up the Intelligence the player must touch the enemy's briefcase. While holding the enemy's Intelligence, the player must bring it to the location of their Intelligence where they must enter their 'capture zone' (indicated by the yellow and black lines) in order to successfully capture it. After each successful capture, your team will be rewarded with ten seconds of crit boost.

If the Intelligence carrier is killed or the Intelligence is intentionally dropped, the Administrator informs the teams over the loudspeaker and the Briefcase will remain stationary for 60 seconds, with a timer shown above the Intelligence indicating how much time is left before it is returned to the Intelligence room. During that time the Intelligence can be picked up as normal. Each time the Intelligence is dropped, the timer is reset. The enemy cannot move or reset the Intelligence themselves. The intelligence cannot be carried by players with an invulnerability buff, i.e. ÃœberCharged players and Scouts under the effects of Bonk! Atomic Punch, and Intelligence carriers cannot receive an invulnerability buff. The intelligence also may not be picked up by a Soldier wielding the Rocket Jumper or a Demoman using the Sticky Jumper. Cloaked Spies cannot pick up Intelligence until their Cloak has been turned off. However, if a Spy does acquire the Intelligence then they will lose their disguise and no longer be able to change their disguise or Cloak. An exception to this is the Dead Ringer, which will force the Spy to drop the Intelligence, and Cloak as normal.

If the Intelligence carrier dies in a normally inaccessible part of the map, i.e. falling into a pit or off a cliff, the Intelligence is immediately returned to its starting location in the Intelligence room. If no team completes the capture limit before time runs out, the match will enter Sudden Death mode.

Unlike variants of Capture the Flag in other games, you can make a capture without actually having your Intelligence at your base.

Special delivery--

Deliver the Australium to the rocket before the opposing team does so.

Full description (From official tf2 wiki)

Special Delivery is a Game Mode released as part of the Pyromania Update. In this game mode, an initially neutral briefcase of Australium must be transported to Poopy Joe's rocket before the opposing team can do the same. If a player picks up the Australium and is killed while holding it, only players from the same team as the dead briefcase carrier can pick it up again. If the team fails to do so within a few seconds, the briefcase is sent back to its original position. The player who has hold of the Australium must be on the platform that is raised to the compartment at the head of the rocket and must stay on the platform as the Australium is placed into the compartment, launching the rocket and winning the round.

Payload Race

We have a payload server and its never populated but this one features both teams having carts. It could be challenging to have to push your cart and still block the other team.

Full description (From official tf2 wiki)

[spoiler=asdf'']In game description: Two teams. Two carts. Two tracks. Hilarity

ensues.

Unlike standard Payload maps, Payload Race maps feature both RED and BLU teams issued with a cart; Neither team is restricted to an attacking or defending role, with both teams assuming characteristics of both roles. To win, each team must simultaneously push their cart through enemy territory to reach the final point while preventing the enemy team from doing the same. As with Payload mode, team members push the cart by standing next to it, with more members increasing the speed of the cart and opposing team members halting it.

Unlike Payload mode, the cart will not move backwards after any duration of time and there is no time limit; the map will only end when one team successfully pushes their cart to the finishing point. Each cart works as a level 1 Dispenser for their team (and disguised enemy Spies), restoring health and ammunition to those pushing the cart. Parts of the track may feature slopes on which the cart will quickly roll back down to the bottom unless it is being constantly pushed.

Payload Race maps may or may not be split into multiple rounds.

And finally, I think we should have a custom game mode that some people in the community make. If it is well made it could be fun to have some sort of gamemode unique to HG.

Description (probably dont need it but w/e, from the official tf2 wiki)

[spoiler= Description'']Community game mode mods are custom, unofficial game modes, produced by talented community members. They vary from remakes of Team Fortress Classic game modes to completely original modes, and may change anything about the way a class works from their core mechanics to the weapons they carry. Some modes even add new enemies for the RED and BLU teams to fight, or put the player in the shoes of someone or something they couldn't play in an official mode. Some game mode mods have been honorably mentioned by Valve on the TF2 Official Blog.

24/7 CTF server we host that rotates through 2fort and Turbine: 64.31.16.212:27015

Special delivery--

We used to have a Special Delivery server but then it kinda died. Plus not that many people really play special delivery, unless I'm proven wrong.

Payload Race We have a payload server and its never populated but this one features both teams having carts. It could be challenging to have to push your cart and still block the other team.

64.31.16.221:27015

This one only goes through the map Hightower because it is a widely popular Payload Race map. It used to be full all the time but then kinda died for some reason.

Now yes these servers are empty and that is a problem in itself. If none of you knew this the way that the new TF2 quickplay system works is, the server must be populated all the time to rise up the ranks of all the other TF2 servers that are hosted by other clans/communities. Myself and others on TF2 leadership have tried constantly to populate each server but we have lives of our own and can't be on 24/7 to do this. So this is where all of you come in. When Dynas, Dirty and I aren't busy we can try to host a little mini population event for these servers and try to get them populated.

With the new VIP system we put in for unusual hat effects, you all have a chance at getting VIP since the scores are so low right now and try to maintain staying in the top 20 to get those cool hat effects.

If you guys have anymore questions/suggestions feel free to PM me on Steam of the forums or just post in this thread.

Edit: with a custom game mode do you want Saxton Hale, Zombie Fortress, Hide and Seek, The Hidden, or Monkey's custom gamemode Man Bear Pig?

Well I'd put it to a vote but man bear pig is specific to HG so it would draw some traffic.

Also, repopulation events would be good. Would be nice to have more HG members in our servers as the only times I've seen fellow HG members in the servers were you in Surf on Saturday and Dolan in Surf on Sunday. Tf2 needs a server like perp or Jailbreak (not in a gamemode perspective, but something unique to HG where members go to another division's servers to hang out with other members) and minus MvM, we don't have one of these.

I'll talk to Monkey about it. I think Kigen is the one who helped make it.

Got a new suggestion--

http://forums.allied...ad.php?t=131282

Zombie Fortress

I've actually been working on trying to get an event up for this but Dirty keeps forgetting lol. If the event goes well then we might leave the server up and see how it goes from there. Dynas and I have been playing quite a bit of Zombie Fortress and it's really fun.

My last suggestion I came up with would be a tf2 jailbreak, I don't know if this is even possible but it would be really cool to see and would bring lots of new members if it was possible.

Oh yeah trust me its possible seeing as how i joined a server hosting it... the question is, do I really wanna bring in all the drama of Jailbreak over to TF2?

Well, it wouldn't all be drama, nor would it all be on our jb server. From what I see our jb servers are managed fairly well and considering how you said in chat theres like one other, would be unconventional and new, bringing more people.

Going to just bump this thread instead of making a new one.

Now yes these servers are empty and that is a problem in itself.

My question to you guys is how are we going to repopulate? Besides events, whats the plan? lol

Idea for a custom mod-

Hunger Games Mod- Combo of control points, deathrun, and deathmatch

Essentially you only spawn with your choice melee weapon and as you assist capture or capture a control point (there are alot, say 25) then you get access to your secondary. There is one in the center of the map and you have to capture or assist capture to gain access to your primary weapon. You sit in spec once you die until there is one person standing, in which they have a perk for the next round.
