jajolt Posted January 25, 2013 Share Posted January 25, 2013 I was trying to open up steam today and I get the error: steam needs to be online to update. please confirm your network connection and try again I googled it, all the help was for mac and ik mcafee isn't blocking steam. Try to watch a youtube video to see if you can download anything if you can watch the video then go to the community home page to see if its just a problem with steam. BlackEyes Posted January 25, 2013 Share Posted January 25, 2013 Try turning off your firewall and see if that helps. If not, go to C:/Windows/system32/drivers/etc and open the hosts file with notepad. If you see anything in there that doesn't have a # before it that you yourself didn't add, try removing it (after you backup your host file just in case ). If you don't see anything maybe try getting Malware-bytes and do a scan. Else I don't know what else you can do besides maybe asking Enigma on the forums.
