youthedog Posted February 1, 2013 Share Posted February 1, 2013 Anyone here have a degree/job in engineering? Any kind I was wondering, might go into civil engineering. Recently had to do a balsa wood bridge competition,won my high school and went to county, 1st place gets a scholarship in civil so I'm aiming for that. First two are mine, 2nd are my friends. Both of them are remakes 1st one weighed 32g, held 54.4 lbs, though the roadbed they gave us @ county was a shitty grade which caused it to fall through at only 32 lbs, the grade of the wood also lowered it to 22.4g :\, still got 1 more year though. 2nd weighed 22g (for some reason glue added a lot), only held 16 cause of poor final construction. Meh, just a shit ton of equations that you need to know for civil and shit which become almost useless if you get a job in that field considering all the software that's out.
