50% Fps In [Hg] Servers Only?

for some reason i have an issue with a 50% drop in average fps whenever i'm in an HG server.. sometimes if i restart css enough times it will fix itself, but other times it doesnt.

for example, if i join any other server first, play on it for a little bit, my fps is fine, but then as soon as i join an hg server (Even if its the same map) my fps STARTS normal but then within a second or two it drops down to about 50% of my average. Also, if i restart css enough and i do get my FPS to work fine, if the server's map changes or restarts, then my fps drops back down to 50%..

for a last example if i join an HG server and my fps is halved, then i join a different server (non-hg) my fps is normal..

also sometimes my css seems to crash when i first load in HG servers when the first advert popup shows up then the motd does..

does anyone have any suggestions or need any more info from me? it's quite annoying restarting css 4+ times to play.

well i guess you can try ruling out your CPU not liking the motd

go to %installdir%/steamapps/<accountname>/Counter-strike source/cstrike

If there is "textwindow_temp.html" present, then mark it read only.

 

See if it helps a bit.
