I Love Lamp
You picked out some good stuff, but you could knock off about 40 bucks off the price if you drop that super flashy case and pick up something more practical. Also, in the past, I've tried an NZXT case, and I've been pretty unsatisfied. Their tool-less locks leave a lot to be desired (if your case gets too hot they start to expand and sometimes loosen) and I personally almost lost a finger because of the shoddy innards being sharp as hell. I'd recommend a Cooler Master, maybe something like this. Not as glamorous, but Cooler Master makes cases that can last through almost anything, and their insides are usually very well done. As for a video card, I'm sure Terry will log on tomorrow and link you a GTX 250 rofl. EDIT: I also noticed you didn't add on a CD/DVD Drive. I recommend this one. I want to build a PC but I'm really short on money:drugs:, as well as most people with this economy >.< Thanks! If you're on a budget February, there are a few things you can change. CPU looks good Mobo you can switch to the UD3. The difference between the two is the SB750 southbridge which gives you the ability to run multiple GPU (notice it has two pci-e slots) Not much of a benefit as crossfire only helps out at really high res. PSU is good but a lot more than you need. If you can budget it, it is a good idea to pick something liek that up as this will prevent you from having to upgrade your PSU next year. If you don't plan on upgrading for a while the Corsair 400watt PSU will power your rig up perfectly. Case looks good. You could save cash by picking up one of these Case/PSU combos. Normally I do not recommend any PSU that comes in a case, the only expections are Antec and Coolermaster cases/psu's. They work great. Again up to you, nothing wrong with the case/psu you already picked out. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129045 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129033 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129065 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129024 Hard drive will work, for a little more I'd pick up the 640GB WD Blue or Black and throw away the 30 gig as it will slow down your new system. The black is your best bet as the price diff between the blue and black is 5$ right now. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136319 Memory looks good Video card - lots of choices these days. Depending on how much you have to spend, there are a few choices. 118$ - ATI 4850 1GB 124$ - GTS 250 150$ - ATI 4870 1GB 170$ - GTX 260 For the 200$ range, the ATI 4890 is my top choice, and for a tad more the GTX 275. Both are great cards. For your setup with the ATI southbridge, it will like the ATI card more.
