Patr!ck
i was playing css and all of a sudden it closed, then it said signed out of messenger due to connection failure, yet everything else had internet, so i figured it was down for maintenence or something, so i opened css again and every single server wasnt secure, so still thinking the same thing i joined a d2dm server and 10 minutes after playing steam booted me saying could not recognise a valid steam id or something like that, any ideas? Wingless
Restart steam. Sometimes during updates and things like that you lose auth with the steam server. At least in my experience.
I Love Lamp
Steam Friends is currently down for maintenance. I imagine they're messing with a few things like the auth and VAC servers.

Patr!ck
what do u mean its never happening again lol? i beleive the first three times was because the fan broke, which made me hard drive like, explode, and the last time was because i got a REALLY bad virus, what forum can help me =[ Edited August 7, 2009 by Patr!ck
Wingless
Well, hardware I can see sending in for warranty purposes, but for anything software/OS related, it's a waste of time to send the computer back. You'll just get a factory image with a lot of "value-added" (bloatware garbage) software back.
