I have to do a basic computer class to get into higher classes.

This course covers very difficult subject matter, such as turning your computer on and off, opening up a word document, making table in excel, and changing mouse sensitivity.

I thankfully found the online orientation, which I was redirected from my student email, which tells me how to get into my email.

Please shoot me.

Thats pretty hardcore, will you be taught how to hook your cables up for your computer?

If it is the only way to be able to take the higher level classes, then take the course.

When I was in high school, I had to take typing before I could take any computer database or programming classes..it suxed..but I did what I had to do to get in...

Thankfully, in college, if you think you know enough about a particular class curriculumn, you can opt to take a 'clep' test or exam[if one is offered for the class].. if you pass this test/exam, you get credit for the class as if you actually took it the old fashion way, and your grade is based on that single exam score. However, in some schools, you may still be required to pay the school for the class you have just clepped out of... i.e. a catch 22...if you pass the clep exam, you might still have to pay for the class as if you actually sat through the entire class for that quarter/semester/etc...colleges still want there money too!

Even in real life, you will have to suffer through things, that you know you can already do, but not be permitted to do higher level stuff until you've done the lower schtuff first...you have to pay your dues...

This is a college course and I thankfully decided to do it all online. (lolinternets) I can take all the tests right now if I wanted to, which I might. But the fact that this course starts out with specific websites, including a nice example of a youtube video with a bubble that says "video" pointing at the video makes this course a near joke. Sure, it moves into ip's and computer maintenance, but there should be no reason to be required to start off learn shit that an 8 year old could figure out. I knew how to do simple stuff in DOS when I was a wee lad. I could start up Leo the Lion all by myself. I'm not busting on the course as a whole, cause I haven't gotten into it, but this beginning stuff is terrible.

I just went and looked into cleps, and I believe it's required to actually take this class for my degree. Either way I didn't know when I was scheduling. :(

Pic related: It's a video of a horse race.

So that's what a video of the best sport ever, looks like.

But just incase you didn't realize it was a video on a video site and not just some fancy moving picture, it tells you below that there is a video on the page and points it out clearly so you know where it is.

Oddly enough, I skipped all of the pre-req classes in high school and went right into programming and comp-sci.

They really, really want your money, so you have to take stuff-you-learned-in-high-school-about-computers 101. Kind of like taking Intro to U.

It's like learning to wear a paper hat before you start working at a fast food place.

Education systems are so dumb.

I have a ton of gripes about the compulsory education system, but this probably isn't the time for that. And remember, no matter how high of a level you become, you'll never learn the skill for being able to wear pants.

If you need help with your homework just ask Den!

P.s. Are you goth bro?!

If goth means hating the school system then yes, I am ultra goth. I'm just sad that after escaping the lovely play called high school, I still have to put up with trivial nonsense. Except this time, I'm paying for it!

I agree. High school was both some of the best and worst times of my life, but most of it mirrored something from daytime television. I'd appreciate if the level of professionalism would go up once we start paying to take classes that are now important to us since we now want a serious career, but that would be silly of me to hope for since the human factor still exists.

I guess I should just be happy with the fact that I don't have to sit in a building for 7 hours, 5 days out of the week, and that daily graded homework assignments are gone.

Flirt with the teacher.

It's not gay if it's for grades. (this has been proven mathmatically)
