bob saget
Hey I am doing a Spartan race in a few months so I'm starting to get in shape. I'm doing most of the Spartan WODs and was wondering If anyone has done it and could recommend a pair of shoes for it. Right now I'm using a pair of Reebok running shoes. Any Ideas??? sharp_shooter
Not my preferred shoes. I've been running in Mizuno Waveriders for the past 3 years. I've put in over 2000 miles in several different pairs. I strongly recommend those shoes. Amazing grip and comfort. They are light and repel water as your feet sweat. After 500 miles in a pair they only began to start wearing down at the toes. If you want I'll gladly upload my last pair. Mizuno is currently on waverider 16 and they are amazing. kickbutt7
Im running long distance track right now and have those same Mizunos for my training shoes. They work great! If you dont like those also look at Asics.
Lady
I got a pair of reeboks from Kohl's and they make a 5 mile run pretty comfy.... and I hate running. Ran me about $40. Not too bad.
WiNK TotEM
I know I'm late with this bit of advice, but PLEASE remember that the money you invest in your shoes is really an investment in your body. Just because you're comfortable running a short distance in a pair of shoes doesn't mean you're not doing damage to your joints, arches, back, etc. There's a good reason you found those Reeboks at Kohls and not Mizunos. You can find a great pair of Asics Gel Nimbus or Gel Kayanos at Finish Line on sale for around $75 if you can’t foot the bill for Waveriders. Straight off the shelf you can run a ½ in those and feel great the next day. Invest in your body if you’re going to run, Bob and Lady. Believe me, torn meniscus, herniated discs and plantar fasciitis treatments will cost you a lot more money and mobility in the future if you don’t. Run smart!
