I just recently swapped all my parts into my new computer case and I must have damaged something on the mobo or Gpu but regardless I think it is time for an upgrade. I have already purchased a new mobo. My new graphics card needs to last 2 years and be something from nvidia because im a huge fan of the idea of G SYNC and Shadowplay. Claws Posted January 21, 2014 Author Share Posted January 21, 2014 (edited) Its just over heating I think. But it shouldn't be. I have set up fan curve's and stuff but the GPU is no longer overclocked and it throttles. Fan is louder. Card is probably going to die. I have switched it out for my older gtx 460 currently and it has no problems. My guess to why this is happening is probably because I made a bad overclock and it finally cant handle it after 2 and a half years. it heats up to 86c under full load when it used to be under 66c under full load. I have read on forums that it should not go above 75c range. I have noticed that it crashes when it hits 83-85. I think I am an idiot for overclocking. My gtx 660 was really nice 60 frames high setttings for most games. Gtx 770 is a very nice card I agree. Update I was hoping to make this 660 last another year. I honestly may just get a 660ti but that 770 would last quite a while I think Again another Update These parts were moved from a small tower to a full tower about a month ago so it should not be hitting these temperature's. Yes I was over volting it was default 912 mv. I was trying to oc my card to make it better than a gtx 660 ti which worked for quite a while until now that is. Wow im dumb THANK YOU I have thought for the past 2 years it was a 2 year warranty so I never bothered checking the warranty damn. That's amazing I'm so relieved.
