This took place yesterday approx. 3PM GMT
This individual exploited zs_obj_vertigo_v12 ending by backtracking.
Zombies could not get to them, they told us to use headcrabs, but they were already prepared for that, by blocking the only way through.
On top of that, the map has a 1.5 damage multiplier and they have high tier weapons, this was not fun.

How did they exploit the end?
They reach the last radio and activate it, then they backtrack through the vent they came in, which automatically closes.

As one of the four players. I don't see how its an exploit. Its basically the same as one fast player going ahead, activating the button and trapping the people behind. In this case the people wanted to stay behind as its much safer. The final button is a timed win which is the same on obj_reactor and people camp spawn/2nd barricade spot/3rd barricade Spots. Which in that maps case technically everyone is suppose to go to the top button, but not everyone does. You are pointing out that because we stayed behind, its exploiting but apply that logic to reactor and practically almost all humans are exploiting.

-Basically saying if humans all humans on obj_reactor don't advance to the final top button catwalks area and are not considered exploiting, then why would it be considered exploiting on vertigo?

Firstly, the fact that we had high tier weapons is a function of both the point saving feature and the fact that we were extremely far into the longest map...I don't see how it's relevant at all. Same with the damage multiplier, which no one knew about until I told them lol.

What I've been told about objective maps is that as long as I'm reachable and doing the objective, what I'm doing is fine. Once you hit the last objective, you can be ANYWHERE on the map and as long as one person survives it counts as a win. What about people that are slow to catch up, or stayed behind with stalkers? That vent will close on anyone not fast enough to catch up. If you killed everyone at the rooftop, they would be alive and they would be "exploiting" be default because they couldn't catch up or w/e. The objective is to defend. We were reachable not just by headcrabs, but by zombies that stayed behind or went the long way back around to us. You can jump down to the very beginning (obviously not plausible) or jump down from the roof to the obj right before the last one, which gives another method of reaching the humans. I don't see how this is exploiting, seeing as A. the obj was being completed and B. we were reachable. There's places on other maps where humans are hard to reach and all that that aren't considered exploiting. Humans stay behind and cade all the time on reactor, or "backtrack" after the final obj to a cading area. The map, like in vertigo, says nothing about doing this and nor do the rules. This is hardly different than people complaining about the red vents on viruslabs. It's difficult for zombies and a map flaw, not exploiting. Speaking of which, I've already talked to the map creator about this as I think it should be fixed regardless because it cheapens the challenge, not because it's an exploit.

Wrong, you should've been at the top of the tower.

Zombies that stayed behind were easily massacred, and you guys probably used aegis to get back up the fence part.

The OBJ at the top left says either "Make a final stand" or "defend".

The guy who created/fixed up this map also did Obj_Dump. On obj dump, people who stay behind get trigger hurt everywhere. If he did not intend for people to be able to stay behind, why wouldn't he apply these same things to vertigo, especially considering he already knows how to do it and made this version of vertigo after dump? And as I said, it's not staying behind anyway since the objective is being complete. It's like you didn't even read my reply. If you can tell me where the map says we need to be at the top, then sure. If that was the case we couldn't finish the map, could we?

The fact that zombies died easily is not relevant. You played on a point saving server against skilled players.

Also, Aegis doesn't even work like that on our server. It was patched because of this very same map actually.

How does being "easily massacred" even apply? It just means we humans used our top tier guns efficiently to hold them off. Get back up fence part? Did you even look at your own demo? Aegis can't be climbed/jumped onto also.

Why are you guys trying to justify your exploiting of the map, and then blaming the map author?
Why can't you guys tell me how you got up, because it looks like a one-sided report, because you guys aren't willing to share what you did to get back.
Why bother playing the objective map, if you aren't going to play through it fairly, the objective is clearly about reaching an escape via a "helicopter", he's even on the damn radio notifying you at the "Last" checkpoint.

But you guys had to be clever, and backtrack, either aegis or a junkpack. great job.
I'm also disappointed how you guys boasted about free points the next round.

We're not justifying "our exploiting" because no exploiting was done. Map author isn't being blamed. It's a map flaw or intentional, plain, simple, and objectively true. The map creator knows what he's doing...

You never asked how we got up. There's tons of ways: Props, Boomstick jumping, or a turret.

Why does anyone bother playing reactor? The objective is "clearly" to go through the map as a team but every time we play that map only me and maybe another person do the objs. But like in vertigo, the map doesn't punish you and doesn't explicitly say you have to do that... the helicopter crashes at the end of vertigo. Think of this realistically: If the helicopter is going to crash, would it matter where the humans are? It wouldnt make sense for the map not to end with the map's current ending.

There are two free aegis and two free junk packs on the map. Like I said, this doesn't even have to be planned, it can easily happen by accident (and infact has happened before)

Obj reactor has nothing to do with this report.

It matters where humans should be, seeing as the map triggers events based on where humans are, that radio at the last checkpoint required manual activation.
The gate opens as the break time for the checkpoint is over, meaning players should be up on the tower.

4 people backtracking at the last event of the map, pretty much means you guys knew of the exploit and intentionally ruined the game for the zombies.

The zombie's last spawn was on the tower, where were the humans? oh they decided to be cheeky and backtrack.
But, you guys were satisfied because of the free points.

You were delaying the map. In the future you will be required to progress through the map. Remaining behind to stall will result in punishment.
