Friend of HG
Well this is clearly referring to what myself and Raptor did on HG-East earlier this day.

Exploitation is an extremely vague way of putting things and I honestly don’t know how you can call it that. The closest thing to what I did would be metagaming, which I’m going to cover in a bit. To avoid any bias here’s what happened. “Wanna play helipad on US-East” “Ok” and then we moved to US-East to play it. Nothing happened until wave 4ish and then -hg-knifes joined and started attacking Raptor. Everyone knows the only point in helipad is to get lots of points off wave 5 butchers so obviously no one was happy. A attempted votekick against him occured, and eventually the game ended through normal death. Perhaps 50-100 points were earned for the last survivor.

So it boils down to these things that are potentially problematic in your eyes:
1. The votekicks
2. The fact that we went to east to play helipad
3. The way I responded to the situation
4. The fact that i didn’t attack raptor as a zombie. (metagaming)

The first point is completely fair. That is an incorrect thing to do. However, votekick abuse, especially for a first offense (as it was for anyone who did it) has historically never created more than a one day ban, at least from what I’ve seen. A permanent ban for this is a large stretch, but I’m sure you expected me to appeal so I digress. Also to note is that votekick abuse occurs regularly on HG-Central, which I can provide many many screenshots of if desired.

(just a few examples that no one did anything about)

Secondly, switching to east to play helipad. I don’t see how this is a problem either. Just the day before someone tried to get everyone to vote for it simply to farm points off of people. The fact that 2 people did it rather than 20 isn’t really much different. The map would play out the same with a large group or a small; with more people there are more guns AND zombies, so it’s functionally equivalent.

I was not pleasant in my way of responding or describing the situation, yes. However, the person who reported this has a history of adding me and asking me over and over for my points and other things. It’s not like I was doing it to someone I didn’t know. This does not make it right but it also doesn’t really warrant a long ban.

Lastly and most importantly is the fact that I did not attack raptor as a zombie. Metagaming has been a rule since I first played on hg but it has not been enforced since sharpshooter was a da in 2013. The fact is that metagaming is extremely common nowadays; if you had people be honest with you you would probably be appaled. Friends don’t attack eachother as the opposite team. Friends help the opposite team member out. Friends warn eachother on separate communication devices. Friends ask favors of friends on the opposite team. I am not just referring to my own friends, but rather HG members themselves. Had it not been for the fact that HG members do this regularly I could accept this as a reason to perm ban.

It’s hard to prove metagaming off screenshots and it happens so regularly that I don’t even think about it 99% of the time. Neither do your clan members. So this boils down to two things.

1.Votekick Abuse
2. “Pointfarming” the same way HG members do to eachother

I already talked about votekick abuse (first time offenses almost never exceed one day) and since I don’t have any concrete proof of HG members doing this stuff to eachother I suppose you could put this on the tier of this:

With the difference being very little was gained (absolute max 350 points if the boomstick was free which it wasn’t compared to 2000+) and I’m not doing much different than most regulars beyond doing it on EAST instead of central. Also to note in that situation someone who exploited the button for 120 points was not banned at all, which is around what Raptor made from this.

However above all I want this to be reviewed objectively and without any favoritism.

Exact same offense, but the first had done it several times before, yet the difference was a week ban versus a perm. At the very least, if you decide to keep it as a perm take an undercover look at how your own clan members play. I promise you will see many things similiar to what I did on a regular basis. Metagaming is very common and almost never enforced. Breaking out of these habits is difficult but it won’t happen unless it is made more prominent.

Matt, you have a very toxic attitude towards HG and have maintained it since we banned you for going to other servers and trolling. This latest issue just shows that. In any case I think its time you found somewhere else to play.

Good luck.
