Executive Council | Ban evasion |
Friend of HG | Kigen wrote: Ban evasion Hey this is sandwich. Pho did use my account, but I am the primary owner of the account. I was unaware that the ban pho received was targeted at him as opposed to his account. This is because following his first ban he returned under a different account and he was not re-banned on sight. He played for a month before the most recent ban. That along with other things I obviously assumed incorrectly led me to believe this was not against the rules. It appears that I was wrong and I would like to appeal my ban. Thanks, Sandwich |
HG Veteran | Your account your responsibility. Get a new account. |
Friend of HG | Nite wrote: Your account your responsibility. Get a new account. I definitely understand that. To my knowledge though, pho did not break any further rules on my account. I was not made aware via any channel (e.g. forum rules, motd, or administrative message) that pho's person was not allowed on any steam ID. In that regard, I don't understand what responsibility I'm to take given what has been established by precedent to not be an issue (e.g. pho previously being allowed back on a new account after a ban and your suggesting that I purchase a new account to resume playing on your servers). I understand that you'd rather not deal with this any further, so I won't push further than that. I don't suppose I'll be unbanned, so if you'll allow me a few last words: I do hope I've been a positive member of the community. I really enjoyed playing with a lot of you guys on JB. Thanks, HG, and see you around!, Sandwich |

Friend of HG | For the benefit of my peers, might I ask if transgressions of any of the other rules laid out by the steam sub agreement might result in a non-vac ban? http://store.steampowered.com/online_conduct/ Would I further be able to clarify on the nature of my ban? In my case, nite has allowed me back if I so wish under a new account. Would I have to remain silent as to not reveal my identity? Is nite telling me that my person is no longer welcome or my account? Furthermore, should we players assume that all bans are against the player, the account, or should such a distinction always be clarified with leadership? Thanks again for the replies. I only ask to clarify for future players who might find themselves possibly violating an HG rule. |
Executive Council | The problem in this instance is that you shared your account with Pho. Technically, if VALVe was inclined to do so, your Steam account would be disabled completely. But as far as HG is concerned Pho joined the server under your account while banned. Thus resulting in the need to ban your account to ban Pho. I ultimately leave the decision to your fate to those more involved with the problems Pho has been causing. That would be RedDevil, Nite, and the CS:S Division. |
Friend of HG | Your account your responsibility. This has ALWAYS been a rule. Who is to say if we unbanned you that you wouldn't do the same thing you just did? I say hell no. |

I cannot argue with that. Given the new information you guys have been so generous to clarify for me, I'd like to refine my question. Would I, sandwich, be allowed to play again on any CSS servers with a different steam ID? I honestly meant it when I said that I enjoyed playing with you guys, and a new css account isn't much of an issue. The question is whether or not I have been personally banned. It's your servers and if you don't want me around, I want to respect that. |
Friend of HG | You can play with a new id. |
Friend of HG | in the future don't share your account |
