Cr(+)sshair
It's not your network, it's your directx settings. This happens with older cards that can't support DX10 or 11. Exit out of CS (hl2.exe if running) Simply go to your cstrike/cfg folder. Find autoexec.cfg Insert "mat_dxlevel 90" Done! This command will force your models and shadows to default Edited June 28, 2010 by JJK

Cr(+)sshair
Desk, that's not effective. You could have a DirectX 9 card but have 11 installed.

Dan1
dx10 here. always get the choppiness. :/ EDIT: Opened up CSS just to check. It says: Hardware DirectX level: DirectX v10.0 Software DirectX level: DirectX v9.0 Does this mean I should use mat_dxlevel 90 Edited June 28, 2010 by Dan
RetiredTacos
Add " -dxlevel 90" without the quotes to the launch option. No need for an autoexec.cfg
BlackEyes
or put -dxlevel 90 in run parameters for cs:s

Oblongs
this is how i fixed my ping issue i was pissed i couldnt play counterstrike and was in my steam folder and was looking at the counterstike folder and no joke was so mad i just dragged it out of the steam folder and tossed it and reloaded css to try it one last time and now my ping is back down to 30 40 after realoading that whole folder after the patch was released so if you having the same problem go into your computer/program files/steam/steam apps/your account name/Counterstrike source <--- delete this folder and restart your css and for me it worked....
