Getting Rid Of Shitty Maps

I agree with OP, if you have played ZS for a long time you get tired of these maps and nothing will be done.

 

 

Maps listed should be removed.

 

zs_abstraction_night - Zombies no chance 1 sided map.

zs_bunker - Just a long boring endless hallway.

zs_headcrab_canyon - this map gets bored after few times.

zs_hazzard - Zombies have no chance.

zs_insurance - same as bunker.

zs_mall_of_the_dead - I think this map has been removed? OP map for humans.

zs_nacht_der_untoten - bad map is bad.

zs_obj_Phoenix - bad map nobody wants to spend points on this map.

zs_obj_bluevelvet - shitty map nothing fun about.

zs_obj_station - shitty map nothing fun about.

zs_obj_reactor - normal zombies slow as fuck, snipers OP.

zs_residentevil - all props are static, overall boring map.

zs_underpass - takes forever to get down since the elevator got removed

Maybe take the time to actually suggest fixes.

 

I am part of the mapping team and while I may not have billions of hours spare to work on maps, I will do what I can to fix the biggest outstanding annoyances.

It needs to be fixed since it was OP for Humans, but that's already been done. Instead of going "shit map" because YOU can't play it, actually suggest a fix.

I agree with all the maps above except bunker. Why you gotta hate bunker man. It's not really that hard for zombies to win. Once they break through the front lines, its almost an automatic win for zombies.

Those three maps were removed during the new pack of maps put on the server this past weekend. As for the others, I will examine them more closely and decide if it is necessary to remove them off of the rotation. I see your concerns, and if you payed attention to the list of maps added you should know that I try to have maps fixed then going straight to removing them. For example, siege had been recieving a lot of negativity, so we fixed it, same for neighborhood and fuzzy's safehouse (Well we at least try to fix them). Just because a couple people don't like a map doesn't mean it should be removed immediately based off of that small group or one person's opinion. However, I do take into account these threads and use them for reference, so thank you for voicing your concern.

Plenty of the maps listed are unfixable. if you wanted to make them even you'd have to make such large changes it wouldn't be the same map anymore.

 

Something that needs to be considered when it comes to the public opinion about maps is people are a lot less inclined to complain when real admins (aka flashy names) are online. Every time station is picked people bitch & moan and there's no real exaggeration by anyone here; There are plenty of maps frequently complained about.

 

I have no idea why but people vote for a lot of these bad maps as soon as they're available and proceed to complain. Hazard is by far the most OP human map on the server (except underthebunker) but it isn't a problem because no one votes for it...it's quite odd.

Underthebunker was already fixed by me matt.

 

But many of those maps can be fixed by just adding in player clips etc. Nothing is impossible

 

That's good, I don't play often anymore so I wasn't aware. I'd like to judge that myself though, I'll hop on for a bit then.

 

If you guys are looking for suggestions on particular maps I would gladly help, I didn't accumulate those mass hours for nothing.

Plenty of areas where you can post suggestions for maps to help make them better. In some cases, like Matt said, certain things can't be fixed without either redoing the entire map, or changing it so much that it wouldn't be the same.

all your reasons sound like opinions, not real valid reasons

Obj station, bluevelvet and phoenix are really too short, they end up getting replayed most of the times, if they were longer or more hard then humans would actually a buy a gun on it, why would you waste 250 on 3 zombies on a map that is 2 min long?

 

Underpass and abstraction are the most OP maps after Mall(which got removed) the problem with abstraction is that the cade area is too dark and zombies usually give up on this map, you can win on it.

 

About underpass, the first version it had was fine, just removing or reducing the dmg the elevator gave to players , the vents are too long and you take like 30 secs to reach the front cade both as human or zombie.

 

The other maps are just boring or you havent find out the interesting part of it.

I actually enjoy a lot of those maps, some I don't recall because like matt said, they don't get voted for very often.
